Does anyone else have this happen?
After I go to the dentist, I get a horrible D attack the next day.
I suspected maybe it was artificial sweetener in the polishing paste they use.
Also, when I used a new home flouride treatment called Gel-Kam, I had a horrible D attack (extreme nausea, wicked diarrhea, gas, sweats, chills) for 2 days afterwards.
Sound familiar to anyone?

It is not familiar to me but I would definitely check into the ingredients in the paste and treatments they use. It is very likely that they could contain a trigger for you. Hope you feel better soon!

Is it nerves? Are you getting nervous/upset about going? I know I do, even for a regular cleaning and always take a xanax before I go.

I think I've figured it out.
I told my dentist about the D after my cleanings, and he told the hygienist to use a non-flavored polishing cream with the polisher tool thingy (whatever that's called! ) The flavored ones do have artificial sweeteners - he checked the ingredients for me.
Three days after my cleaning, and no D or nausea! Yipee!
I have switched all of my dental care products to the Tom's of Maine brand and have been nausea and D free since.
Hope this helps someone else too!
