I went to my chiropractor yesterday for a back adjustment. Last time I saw him I told him I was trying to get off Effexor for anxiety/depression. Well, when I saw him yesterday I mentioned that I had gotten off the Effexor and was trying acupuncture now for the anxiety and IBS. He asked me about my symptoms and said he had suffered with the same type of thing. He said "Just between you and me...what is your worst fear?" I told him "dissappointing people". He said "Yeah, I'm a 'people pleaser', too." He would get nervous before going to work in the mornings, Sunday evenings were bad with nervousness. He said he had some mild IBS symptoms, etc. He said since he's been taking fish oil and changed his diet, his symptoms are pretty much gone. He asked me if I had changed my diet along with the acupuncture. I told him that I had cut down on dairy and try to eat fairly low fat. He said "What else? Do you eat bread?" I said, "Yes, I eat bread." "Don't.", he said explaining the theory behind it. He said there is a brand of bread that is good for people who cannot tollerate wheat. It's called Ezekiel Bread. It is made with sprouted grain and is flourless. http://www.foodforlife.com/. I have not yet tried the bread, but I plan on getting some tonight on my way home from work. He said I could have two slices a day. He also told me about flaxseed oil and fish oil. So I bought the pharmeceutical grade fish oil from him and took one teaspoon last night. So will see how that works. I will be taking one teaspoonfull a day. He said it helps with depression, leaky gut, IBS, inflamatory issues, etc. I'm glad I have such wonderful and helpful health professionals to count on here. I'm so looking forward to getting this under control. I believe it is possible, for me, without the use of prescription drugs. If I can just have the patience of allowing my body to get used to a new diet and way of life without being prescription dependent.

Yeah-Ezekial bread is supposed to be great for your body. My friend is into and I like it-it tastes a bit healthy but its good. Because its sprouted its supposed to be easier to digest. I was fine with it-hope you like it.

Funny, I was just told about changing to Spelt bread this weekend, I would guess both your Ezekiel and the recommended spelt are gluten free. I have been checked for Celiac, but am going again in Sept. The fish oils is something I am not sure I could do. Just the thought of it bothers me!! (I'm a wimp! What can I say!)
Let us know how the bread is!

I used to eat Ezekiel bread alot...I go in phases about what I eat/buy. It is good, and the bread is "alive" so it feeds your body. You have to eat it quick though as it comes frozen. Or just toast it as you eat it from the freezer. "People pleasers" come up alot for IBS...I wonder if there have been any studies done if more are IBS-C or IBS-D...? I know I get anxious if I am going somewhere new, or have to meet alot of people, start a new job....etc and then the flare ups begin. I hate it!!! The fish oil (I buy the capsules from PCB free, wild caught small fish) because I don't like the taste of the liquid. It seems to help, and it's great for the skin....it glows !!!
