We will go across the street to the beach... we will be able to see two firework shows over the water!! The best part is... we can come and go as we please and don't have to fight the traffic...and can use our own bathroom....hehehe

No plans at all, unless there's a car dealer open so I can continue the painful shopping experience.
Oh, and I should mow the lawn, but I'm not counting that as "plans."

are the fireworks good? we are in the bay area too, but going to a little firework show, i've always wanted to go to the SF fireworks, but not with a 6 year old and a new born!! i saw them from treasure island a long long time ago, we waited for like 2 hours, so we endedup being really bored and once the fireworks started we were totally over the whole idea! lol

...always subject to change without notice, lol...
Adam's nephew is here right now, spending the night, and we're all going to the parade in the next town over (another small town, but much bigger than ours). Then Adam and I are going to a fair about an hour upstate... we'll be back in time to catch a concert back in the same town we saw the parade in... and then fireworks, of course. And then we'll collapse from exhaustion from all the running around.

in about an hour, my roommate and i are heading down to battery park (at the south tip of manhattan) for a free outdoor belle & sebastian concert. then we kill a few hours (hide from the thunderstorm they're expecting), and then find a spot somewhere on the east river for the fireworks! very excited.

but I am off work sick and feeling sorry for myself today!
Not IBS sick though, sinus sick which is giving me a sore throat, headache and really bad taste in my mouth. I usually get over it in about two days so I think I will stay out of work tomorrow too to make sure that I recover properly, have a busy couple of weekends lined up so I want to make sure I am able for them and don't have a relapse.
Happy Indepdendence Day American IBSers

Dbf and I took a bottle of wine and a blanket up to my roof, to watch the Macy's fireworks over the East River. There is a tall building next to mine that blocked out some of the view, but it was still pretty spectacular. Next year I'll probably go to the water's edge and watch it for real.
Happy Independence day!

Oooh.. I had the great fourth of july.
I left monday for New Hampshire where my godmother and godfather own a lakehouse and a boat. Two of my older cousins were also there.
It was an amazing and really relaxing time. We spent most of it lounging on the boat in the lake (which was 5 miles long), and also spent some time water skiing, wake boarding and tubing. Plus.. the swimming was just fabulous! It was great to get out of the city and see real grass, and and actual place to lay out and enjoy the sun.
When we weren't on the boat, we were bbqing and eating lobster, which is my favorite! I had a great time and I was so sad to leave!! My cousin brought her little chihauaha with her and I fell in love! He's the cutest, and i've decided as soon as I can afford one, i'll also be getting one. I basically spent the last two days carrying him around every chance I got, and he was loving it as well.

we also went out on the boat to watch the fireworks.. it was GORGEOUS... not only did we see the real fireworks, but nearly every house on the lake had their own private performances (haha apparently everything is legal in NH). It made it really fun though bc we were basically sitting in lake with fireworks all around us at every angle.
