after I have had the camera down my throat (which is on 28th June), The specialist has said to me if it is clear he will discharge me. So what do I do then?

do I need any more checks other than the colonoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound scan on my ovaries and blood tests?

How do I go about getting reffered to a dietrician/ nutritionist (sps?)

and how about the hypnosis? do I just ask my doc...I hate wasting their time though, which i feel like i am always doing.

Is there anything else people can suggest trying? (apart from yoga...i`ve tried and just can`t do it )

anyhelp is appreciated, I`ve posted this on the diet board too.

I think caroline was refered...not to mike...but to the other one through the docs...just ask them about it..I neevr knew you could be refered for alternative treatments so I went about it myself instead.

Dietician...was last resort for the docs with me...I had to literally BEG to be seen...you know what the nhs are like...and its taken me 5 1/2 years.....but I had an appt the other day with one and she was great....so Im really hoping for more improvement. Just tell them that you know food is affecting you and you want to be able to eat a balanced diet whilst not upsetting your tummy and say that you'd like professional advice on it....theres no way they can refuse...you NEED to get better after all.

God dont you just HATE the way doctors make you feel BAD for wanting to get better....grrrrrrrrr

Let me know how you get on.....but DONT be afraid to ask!

... as long as you're forceful and you have some evidence that the person you want to be referred to is both reputable and has good success rates, etc, they'll quite happily refer you. If I was you I'd call Mike and find out how long is NHS waiting list is - I've gone private with him so we can do it asap, and that meant only about a 3 week wait, but it took months to see Peter Whorwell through the NHS.

And Mike's rates are SO reasonable if you go private - £30 for the initial consultation, and then £40 for each hypno session. And whereas with Peter Whorwell you need 12 weekly treatments (and they cost £80 each), with Mike I think you only need one every few weeks, probably needing around 6 in total (Nat can probably tell you how many she had), so it doesn't work out expensive in the end. And you can't put a price on your health!

Mike's really cool too - if you leave a message he'll call you back and discuss the whole thing with you.

PS - will reply to yr mail asap, just having a pants day, but in answer to your question my first session with Mike is this Monday, 1pm - so fingers crossed!!
