If you could go anywhere in the world that you've never been before...where would you go and why?

I would go to Norway! I've always wanted to go ever since my philosophy professor in college told our class about it...and have you seen the pictures? The scenery is GORGEOUS! Plus, I'd really like to see a troll... I have also heard the hospitality is phenomenal...I could just go on and on!

My grandmother was going to take me anywhere I wanted to go in the world after college...but I got married instead (definately the right choice...but I'd still like to see Norway!)

It's a tie between Europe and Australia. I'd mainly just like to get off this continent to visit somewhere.

I have to agree Nugget - Aussie have the best accents ever. There was this guy who would come around at my old job and he sold siding.

I told my boss: "I am considering cladding the inside of my apartment - just so I could stand around and chat with him" I find those accents incredibly sexy!! Don't know why...guess I'm strange LOL

Where would I travel?

Hmmm - that's a tough one because I hate travelling...unless there is a purpose, like to visit friends or something. But I am not into vacations in places where I don't know anyone.

I would have to say Ireland though, just because from pictures it looks so beautiful!

Let's go travelling! Lana, Ireland is gorgeous and the people are sooo friendly. They really know how to party! It is a beautiful place.

Oz is another favourite place of mine, though I've only been to NSW. I'd love to go there with my fiance - he's never been and I've been twice. The flight from here is a killer tho. I stopped off in SF last time and that was cool - I loved the place and fell in love with sourdough bread (which you can't get over here )!

I'd really like to go to New Zealand. Everyone says it is so amazing and just incredibly beautiful - you guys seen the LOTR movies?

I'd also like to see more of the states. I've been to Florida, San Fran and Annapolis (which I adored). I'd really like to go to New England and also the Seattle area. Maybe Heather should host the IBS convention there - it's kinda half way between me and Kerrie!

Europe and Australia are tied for me, too! I've always wanted to go to Europe. Then I dated an Aussie a few years ago (yes, his accent was absolutely adorable!) and have wanted to visit Australia ever since. Maybe I'll get to both places someday!

Linz,

I didn't know you were engaged!!!!!!!! That's wonderful! When's the date?

Wow...it sounds like you've done a lot of traveling! I am not familair with the abbreviations you used...where is NSW and SF? Have you been to any other countries?

New England is pretty...is there a particular area you're interested in there? The best time to go, I think, is in the Fall. The leaves are spectacular in the New England area!

Soz Ruchie, I didn't think! SF is San Francisco and NSW is New South Wales. I guess I have done quite a lot of travelling - my Dad's a professional sailor and he's worked all round the world, which is how I got to go to Oz, but I've also got relatives out there. I've been to Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Portugal, Italy and Greece as well as Australia and the States. Oh... and Scotland and Wales.

I'm getting married next July - I can't wait. It's going to be one hell of a party! And I'm planning to cook Heather's Angel Cookies ! I just hope I can stabilise properly before then - I want to be able to eat my own wedding cake!

Wow! Sounds interesting! My hubby loves sailing...I've never been...but I hope to someday!

I've been to Canada, Israel, Mexico, the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Plus lots of the States. I LOVE traveling and I hope to do some more one day!

I also got married in July--it was the best party of my life! You're gonna have a blast--I can tell! Word to the wise: Be weary of bustles. Mine fell down and I was dancing on top of it at my wedding--I even feel on it once

Thanks for the tip! I've actually got my dress already - I found it in a sale down to £90 ($140?) from £300! And it doesn't have a bustle - I've got a big enough bum as it is!

I'd love to go to Canada...or the Caribbean! Travelling is great, even tho flying KILLS me.

Hey, Jen, come visit! You'd love it in Ireland....it is soooooooooo beautiful and the people are amazingly friendly and relaxed. I just can't believe I can't drink Guinness anymore.

England and Scotland are cool too. I've been trying to sort out a trip to Scotland for ages.

I've already got that one covered! I went to Churchill yesterday (The polar bear capital of the world). No polar bears out though as Hudson Bay is still frozen over so they're out hunting. However, it was still -30c with the wind chill ... In April!! The time to go for Polar Bears is from August to October/November.

For me, I don't have one particular place that I'd like to go. Right now (providing Air Canada doesn't go bankrupt cause I get my passes on them), I try and plan my vacations on where I have friends living so that I can crash on the floor. I just need to get the time off to go:

England
Ireland
Australia
Taiwan
Switzerland (already been but thought it was awesome)

is it just awesomely cool to see polar bears, or do you get jaded and think "ah, there's some more of those dang polar bears" ??

that's one of the reasons i want to travel- to see all the cool animals and nature and people.... i mean, landscape is nice to see, of course. but there's so much more than that out there!

i think i wanna go travel exotic places right now!!!! (OK, i'm still pretty sick, so maybe after my nap... )

I WILL get to Ireland. I swear it. I would love to honeymoon there. I know, I know! Most people love the tropics for stuff like that. But I'm so fair I can't really lie out in the sun. (Now that doesn't stop me from desperately wanting to move to a beach somewhere!) But lounging about in the sun is a prescription for an IBS flareup and horrific sunburn!

My grandmother and I were always going to go to Ireland, but she died when I was in college and we had never had a chance to get there. So I'm going, and it's going to be a tribute to her! I thought, who would I prefer to go with, since it can't be with her? Well, should I be so lucky as to find a lovely man and marry him, then it should be him, right!? And if not, I will take Beloved Niece (I may just take her anyway when she gets older...!).

Girlfriend, why wait for Mr. Right to go to Ireland? Go now -- you just might meet Mr. Right over THERE!

My best friend loves to travel, but she never goes with her hubby or her children; she goes with her favorite sister (she has many). Remember the picture I posted of her hugging me? She's very out-going, and you remind me a lot of her. She and her sister went to Europe about 12 years ago and had such a marvelous time that they were determined to return. As a matter of fact, they leave for London on Thursday morning! They're going to Venice and ride a gondola together -- isn't that cute? She told me they have a blast, just the two of them!

So, WIW, you take your gorgeous body and hot hairdo and your best friend, and you guys go over to that gorgeous green country and you find yourself Mr. Right -- or just have a blast the two of you! And then come back and tell us all about it and make us jealous.

Australia - what a great choice. If ever you make it here, I can be a perfect tour guide.

Nothing like standing on top of the Harbour Bridge on a sunny Sydney day!!
