Does anyone know the different levels of medicine in Ortho Cyclen vs. Yasmin? My friend at work has had an awful experience switching and my Internet is blocked...

I'm thinking of changing too. What did she switch to? I was taking the Ortho-Tricyclene but it's causing problems with my IBS.

She switched from Ortho Cyclen to Yasmin and is having bad emotional side effects. She can't "feel" anything. It's really causing her a lot of concern, and she found a board online full of women who are going through the same thing.
She's actually wondering if she should take Paxil short-term to counter act this lack of emotion while she waits for her body to reajust. I'm trying to steer her away form taking paxil short-term because of the bad side effects I've had with ADs, but to be fair i'm just giving her a lot of information so she can make up her own mind.

You might also want to try Mircette. It is one of the lowest doses out there.

Ortho tricyclen is not a low dose pill and its hormones vary through out the month, so its called triphasic. I believe the Yasmin and many other low dose pills are monophasic, which means the hormones levels are the same through out the cycle. My girlfriend just tried the Yasmin and she said it was awful and went back to her ortho tricyclen!

I stopped taking my BC pills almost 3 weeks ago because it was giving me problems with my IBS. I'm still not feeling that great. I was pretty good and stable before taking it - only took it for 6 months. Now I have pain almost daily, and I keep swinging between D and C.
