We painted the living room a deep yellow and the dining room a pale sage green. We're thrilled since we were both so new at painting. Check it out:

I have that yellow in my hallway (it's called Egyptian sand over here) and I love it, it's really sunny.
I want to paint a room that shade of green too but can't decide exactly. So great choices!
For the carpet I would go for a caramel colour, if you like I can post a pic of what mine looks like with the yellow, but it would match the green really well too.

Oh yes we did have some accidents! When I first started I was just using primer so I didn't put down any drop cloths.......of course I spilled the paint on the carpet within the first 5 minutes. But it's water based so it came out with a lot of scrubbing.
