Hey Bob! Yep, I'm a private contractor for the gov't, but I work sporadically and all my cash is wrapped up in my fibro & IBS treatment. My many doctors' bills for Jan thru March have been about $4800, and my meds and supplements alone are in the $700 a month range.
I went to the free clinic today to see if they'd give my weekly B12 shots, but no go. Even tho I brought my own B12 + needles!! Instead they sucked out some blood and other body fluids and told me to come back in 2 weeks!! But I did get some free samples of some meds, like my donnatal, soma, some amyltriptaline and a new inhaler.

AA county is pretty undeveloped. You'll def need a car to get around! But there's nearby Annapolis which has a bunch of stuff to do, and the Bay is great if you're into wildlife, fishing or sailing. Lots of cute hunks at the naval academy too. Don't expect anything cosmopolitan, though!! There's a big pub culture there, but not to many discotheques or anything.

Why won't they give you the shots? Is it because it was prescribed by another doctor?
Ooh, free meds! I didn't know you were taking amitriptyline. I just started this about a month ago, a low dose (10mg), and it's really helping me sleep! I've gained a few pounds in the last month, so maybe it's helping in that department as well. It's either that or the apple crisp I can't stop eating!

OK, it wasn't too bad. It was interesting though. I thought the social security administration with the used band aid on the floor was bizarre, but there was an actual HUMAN TOOTH on the floor of the waiting room of this place. I cannot make this stuff up!
It went ok, I guess. The person who checked me in was rude and abrupt, and I started crying right away. A lot of the "I don't know how I'm going to pay for all my treatment" stress kept bubbling up, and finally I just bawled as I read off all me meds to her. She left VERY hastily.
The doc and nurse were great tho. My blood pressure was 200 over 95 and they were freaked out so they took it 5 times and grilled me about high blood pressure in my family history. I told them I was just worked up, and they left it at that.
I did get some free samples of donnatal, soma, amyltriptaline, and even a new inhaler, though. I donated $20 because that is what was suggested. That was hard because it was my last money for a little while, but I'd feel bad if I didn't offer up anything.
OK, time to destress! Thank you to EVERYONE for your kind words!!!! I really felt the love.

I was taking nortryptaline, but they didn't have that so I just took what they had. I asked for the 10mg dose, but all they had was 25s so they gave me a pill splitter.
I agree they do help!! Instead of getting morning attacks, I get this weird flushing in my face instead, where i'd normally get stomach pangs. It really does "re-wire" me.
They said because the shots weren't "traditional" medicine (it's a B12 plus glutathione plus AMP shot) and that accoring to the fibro clinic blood tests my B12 was "fine" he didn't want to give me them. Go figure.
There is nothing better than free meds, I'm convinced.

haha no no thats fine with me! i'm more of a pub kinda gal, and don't mind suburban areas at all (however, is it too suburban for me to actually meet friends and have a life?)! plus.. the place that I would be working would be in annapolis.. so I hear that that is a more fun area?!?

I had no idea you were spending so much on your meds and doctor visits, that's horrible.
Try to think of your upcoming trip and destress.

Annapolis is great, and it's really easy to make friends in the area, because everybody's NICE. Plus you can actually park and walk around the old city. You'll love the pub culture for sure! It's very Irish. And there are no shortage of guys so your odds are great!
You're so close to the Chesapeake Bay, you're sure to meet a wealthy young guy with his own yacht! The seafood's great too, just thinking about it makes me hungry for crabs and scallops and oysters... *drool*
(My stomach actually made a "i'm very angry with you nelly" noise at me just now! )
