And BOY did I need it. I just really hated my hair before, and now it feels like a bad dream I woke up from!

Anyway, here are the pictures. First one before, and then 2 after--a front and side view.

I have more energy and just a better feeling overall. I'm really excited about things. I think partly it's just physical symptoms are better, and also hearing the baby's heartbeat really made me happy! Plus I'm less stressed about Oscar. I still feel like I need more sleep than normal, but when I AM up and about, I feel good.

You done GOOOD, Girlfriend! I LOVE it! This is exactly what I wanted my hair to look like a hundred years ago when this first came into style. I was working in SF and walked into Vidal Sasoon and asked them to give me that hairstyle. They examined my hair, then laughed in my face. No kidding, no exaggeration. They LAUGHED at me. I turned on my heels and walked outta there.

My hair will not go like that. Crapola. Isn't it funny how we always want what we can't have?

epa, it's knock-dead gorgeous on you! I especially like the highlighting. VERY nice! Yep, you done GOOD!

funny name, it's called Taint and Notch, in Palos, 11901 South 80th Avenue. My hairdresser is Dawn, and I've been going to her for about 6 years, I love her. A lot of my friends and relatives have gone to other stylists there and are always happy. I tell you I've brought them a lot of business!!

Epa, you did yourself a huge favour. In the "before" you looked really tired, depressed, just "weighed down" by the pull of gravity for some obscure reason. Now, you look sexy, younger than your years and well...like you could sell some expensive perfume.

Okay, I go on & on...your attributes are highlighted & the hairstyle positively changes your energy!

I love it.

Kate.

It looks great! I love the way it feels "swingy". You are one hot momma now!!:)

Now I want my bob back. since I've been a momma, I've had it super short which DH hated(so what??) and quite long. I told him I'd grow it out ONE MORE TIME for him, then it's going bob again.

PS- now you and Laurel, Casey,Hohoyumyum and Bevvy match! Nice style, cuties!!

No, it's not a wig -- but you're close. It's a Hair Hat, aka a "piece." Here's another shot. Can you tell which part is mine and which isn't?

Trust me, they can do great highlights on dark hair--it doesn't have to come out looking scary or cheap. If you go to a good place or to a stylist someone recommends you'll be fine. I change my hair pretty often and have never had a bad experience. I get bored easily!

I'm lucky that my husband doesn't care what my hair looks like. I've had short short to pretty long and everything in between. Including every color! He's used to my chameleon ways. But yes, a bob is cute, professional looking, and easy. I did it this morning and it didn't take more than 10 minutes, and came out looking good!

Sorry, Pretty Lady, but the hair underneath is mine. The hair on top is my HairHat. It's real hair, but I didn't grow it. Maybe you can tell better from this picture:

I'll give you another clue: see the difference in color? This picture was taken when I first got it, and the color was off, so we re-colored it. Look at the first picture of me, you can see that the yellow has been toned down and my own white hair has been touched up. Now it blends a lot better.

Wasn't that fun?

That thing BROKE me! I thought long and hard before I decided to go for it, and it sure hurt the pocket book BIG time, but at my age, ya do what ya gotta do. Thankfully I haven't resorted to plastic surgery or Botox..... yet.

Thanks, epa. You're very kind. The skin is a result of not having any hormones. It's a trade-off, I guess, but I'd MUCH rather have had the hormones. We can't always get what we want, so we make the best of what we do have.

Just between you and me, I AM having a lot of fun with the Hair Hat. It's a blast to color and style, comb through, blow-dry, just like when we all played with dolls. Oh dear, could I be reverting back to my childhood in my old age?

and should I ever have need when I get older, I will remember this because it isn't some crappy wig that is totally obvious. I mean, it's real!! and it matches well and it a nice, straight style.
And you're right---the hormones are a tradeoff I suppose. It is nice to know that while you have experienced a big lack in one way, you have been blessed in others.
And from what I can tell, you will never need botox or plastic surgery!!

But it's naturally very curly, so I wasn't sure how they would do with straight hair. It's harder to see the details of the cut when it's so curly!
