I am sooo sick...

It started yesterday with a cough and feeling unwell. We had to cancel our plans for last night because it got way worse. I was unable to fall asleep until 3:30 am (and that was with lots of drowsy cold meds in me).

Tommy says if I'm not much better tomorrow we'll go to a doctor. I might just have a super bad chest/sinus cold but 'm worried I have bronchitis.

Tommy's been a doll and my cat hasn't left my side, she always knows when I'm really sick.

Help!

You poor thing!! That does NOT sound like fun. Rest up and then go to get checked out if you're not better!! There's some nasty stuff going around and if you need antibiotics or something else, it's better not to wait.

{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

I hope you're warm and comfortable!! Doesn't this always seem like it's on the weekends when we all get sick? SO inconvenient!

You poor thing!

I had some sinus thing about a week ago. My head felt like it was going to explode. I couldn't breathe or sleep. Yep, I know you feel miserable. Here's to hoping it clears up for you too, in just a couple days!

So sorry you feel so icky! Yay for Tommy though, sending him hugs too. Definitely get checked out if you don't feel better, I've had bronchitis, and it's really bad if not caught early enough!

Aww poor Tina I hope you start feeling better soon and it doesn't turn out to be something more than just a bad cold. Take care of yourself and get some rest!

Aww...I sympathize! I am really in a bad way this weekend as well. Mine started with an uncontrollable runny, sneezy nose, progressed to a cough and sore throat. Today I woke up with body aches and a fever. Ugh.

At least you have Tommy to pamper you!!! All I have is my kitty and she's just hanging out with me because the electric blanket is on! Mooch!!!

Here's to Nyquil, eh? Take care of yourself, as will I.

seems to be going around! Good thing is that I think it's just a cold thing. Everyone at work has been getting it and fighting it w/o antibiotics! Remember, you don't need antiobiotics for bronchitis! If you read up on it they say that they finally discovered that antibiotics do not make bronchitis go away so tell the doctor NO if he says antibiotics. Get plenty of rest and you can fight it!!!
Here's to feeling better Tina!!!!!

P.S. My older son had it a few weeks ago w/ a fever and it lasted maybe a week. He fought it w/o antibiotics. Now yesterday my younger one started complaining that his throat hurt. Keeping my fingers crossed he doesn't get the fever AND that he doesn't pass it along to hubby and I.

Bad news, I'm still soooooo sick. I think I must have the flu and an infecton in my chest and sinuses. I've never been so sick in my life. I have been unable to sleep at night, only during the day and my cough syrup and cold meds don't seem to be working.

Tommy, please bring me to a doctor.

I hope this doesn't last much longer.

Ugh, sorry to hear your so sick. I'm just getting over a terrible chest cold myself. I found Mucinex helped to break it up, have you tried that yet? If its still bad today, maybe you should go get a chest x-ray, pneumonia is going around right now. I hope your feeling better soon!

Don't mind me, I am in a pissy mood right now. I didn't mean to snap like that. I have things under control and I have scheduled Tina for a Dr.'s appt for 4:15. I am leaving work early to take her.

Tina,

It sounds like influenza. Did you have a flu shot this year? Even if you did, it could still be influenza. Better see a doc to make sure you don't have pneumonia along with it. Hope you feel better soon.

I appreciate your candour. You have a full plate, Tommy, and we all know you're gonna do the right thing by our little sweetie. I shouldn't have jabbed ya like I did. But you know me......!

Hope things go well this afternoon. I'll keep a positive thought for her.

Now get back to work!

I have influenza and bronchitis. I am on a 5 day antibiotic and he gave me some strong coug syrup with codeine in it. It was supposed to knock me out. Things that should be strong to most never are to me. I'm a bit dissapointed as I kinda wanna be knocked out! If it prevents me from coughing my brains out though, I'll be satisfied.

I think with the antibiotics I'll finally get better. I coughed so hard today that I actually threw up twice from the sheer force of my coughing fits.

Bevy- thanks for looking out for me! I guess I posted for him to bring me to the doctor as he's been bugging me to go and it was *me* who kept saying no. It was just my way of saying "I give up, take me to the doctor".

Thanks everyone for caring. I really hope to get well as this just plain sucks.

Wow! Influenza AND brochitis?! Yowza! Girl, you really ARE sick! No kidding! A five-day antibiotic? Which one is it, may I ask? Those things make me soooooo cramped and nauseated! Strong cough syrup with codeine? Oooh, now you're talkin'!

Sweetie, I'm really sorry you're so sick, but I'm glad you got some help and will soon be on the mend.

Tommy was right to bug you about going to the doc. I'm glad you finally gave in. He's a keeper!

Yes, my girl was not doing to well yesterday, but I think the cough syrup with codeine helped her last night as she was able to sleep much better. The antibiotic she is taking is Zithromax, commonly known as the "Z-Pack." You take 2 pills the first day, then you take one pill a day for the next four. When I was on it, it gave me "D." I told Tina ti may do the same to her but I hope it doesn't!

Yes, a double dose of having both illnesses. At least it confirms that I really am sick and not just being a baby with only a cold or something!

The antibiotic is called Azithromycin.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a697037.html

So far (knock on wood) I haven't had any side effects but if it knocks this out of my system a little tummy trouble is nothing compared to this.

I'm glad Tommy brought me to the doctor too. I went to his primary doctor who was great. I think I'll keep him as my doctor too.

Tommy is a keeper! Thanks.

Tina, get well a.s.a.p. I'm so glad you had this investigated. I thought of you yesterday--my grandmother brought me a bag of the biggest fattest freshest & juiciest LEMONS from Florida. Lemons always make me feel better when I've got a cough/cold. (However, I won't presume that they do the same for you. I think it's the astringent aspect of lemons that helps most. Sunlight for the throat.) Perhaps spiking an unsafe beverage with cough syrup might help, too?

Maybe someone will make you some "No-Chicken" soup. Chinese food (for some bizarre reason) always makes me feel better.
No, Thai.

I hope the cough syrup is working. Ugh...anti-biotics! Sometimes I think you feel worse before you feel better.

Hugs,
Kate.
