Odd that you mention the CPn (chlamydia pneumoniae). My Dad was just dx with a chronic CPn infection/CFS, and found a site that was very helpful. He's now on the protocol, and supposedly it helps people with MS, CFS, IBS, and many other chronic conditions. The susceptability to harbor this bacteria in its chronic form apparently runs in families, and we have several suspects now. However, our family is using my Dad as a guinea pig, so I'm waiting to see how it goes before I try and convince my Dr. to let me on the protocol. Here's the link: www.cpnhelp.org. Look at the research on here - very interesting.

I pray your doctor knows to monitor you for any of the side effects of the diflucan.

I can't imagine what you are going through...I will say a prayer for you!

Here in Canada I whined because one pill(that's a full dose for those lovely down-there yeasties...)cost me $20.00 Cdn.

Is it seriously that much of a rip off in the States? Canadian ladies, let's move everyone up north!

Sigh. So much money for one med! Lucky I odn't have something worse!

I took my first pill today, so no idea yet how it's going to affect my tummy. The more I read, the more I find that this drug is hailed as a miracle by patients who've used it. I hope I have similar results!

Canada sounds pretty good to me right now! I spent $580 at the doctor's on Monday, $455 on meds yesterday, and on Monday next week I owe $430 for more meds/tests (I have high mercury levels in my blood and have to do another heavy metal test)!! So much for my month's paycheck. Talk about sticker shock!

I don't have a credit card (tore them all up a couple years ago), but if I did, I'd def be buying stuff over the internet!! I'm afraid to take my meds anywhere with me now, as I'd be worried I'd have to replace them if I got careless!!

I'd hate to have to pay twice for something like this!

I have candidas overgrowth too so I can relate. That's also a reason why I'm still a little hesitant in completely following the IBS diet because of all the refined flour in things like white bread, pastas, and even things like rice and potatoes can cause problems with candidas. I try to control my candidas with probiotics. The last time I had a Y. infection, the doctor was reluctant to give me 1 diflucan pill because of possible side effects so I hope you don't feel bad with 30 pills.

Smart lady! Credit cards are so dangerous! As soon as I pay mine off, I'm tearing it up too!

Yeah, the few times I've had to get it I've been thankful for the insurance!
But Nel, I echo others' sentiments of concern with the side effects! Listen to your body and report to the doc if things seem to not be working right!
I'm glad you're getting some treatment though - I felt so bad for you when it seemed you were getting worse and worse and there was nothing to be done about it. I hope addressing the problems that they found in PA will be a step in the right direction!

Have a good weekend hun!

Mindy
