Is anyone on social security for IBS? Is there a way to get soc sec for IBS? I'm thinking about doing that.
Any thoughts on the subject?

One more thing...Heather, can you put in a daily food jornal? I'd like to keep a record of what I eat and thought it'd be great to do it here.

....... they turned me down. I applied for it 4 years ago. No luck. I appealed, explaining that I had worked non-stop for over 40 years, had put a lot of money into the system, and now needed some help. Again, no luck. They told me to "go find a job near a bathroom!"
Do a SEARCH; you'll find we've discussed this before.

Check out the IBS Fitness Board - a lot of people track what they eat there.

Have you tried disability? Might work. I've never tried.

Well, I'm only 29 yrs old and don't think I need it right now. I do need to see a doctor really bad.
How do I see a doctor when I don't have the money? I asked about a medical card, but the gov office close to me said to go through the soc sec office.
I need help.

Iapplied for Social Security and Disability with my local SS Administration office. IBS nad Fibromyalgia are NOT covered under SSI. Perhaps this will change some day.

Most areas have low cost/no cost clinics. Call Urgent Care or even a local hospital and ask if there are any programs in your area. You might ask at a local church as well. I've been to Urgent Cares that have waived fees because I had no money and seriously needed help.
