What was your first job (besides babysitting)?
Mine was working at my dad's gas station pumping gas. I worked with my cousin and he and I had so much fun. We were about 13 and 15 or so. When it was slow we would drink whole pots of coffee and then have to pee 5000 times for the rest of the day LOL
Those were the days.
I think we made about $5.00/hour or something.

Mine (although I don't like to remember too much about it) was being a sales associate at Ross Stores. Oh man - what a good learning experience on horrible jobs. Contrary to belief, we did clean that store every night until 2-3am in the morning sometimes - even though it never looked clean about an hour after opening. Worked for about a 1 1/2 yrs and was an acting assistant manager without the pay increase.

I worked at a bakery. Mostly counter person, but sometimes helped in the back with decorating cakes & final touches on pastries and such.
Believe it or not, I lost almost 20 lbs when I started working there! LOL
BTW Lana, I can not picture you pumping gas - especially in that bridal gown!

THat is so funny! My first job was also in a bakery that I could walk to from my house. I was 14 and my dad told me to "get a job.." I worked counter too..it was busy at the Holidays! Worked there until I was 18..I don't know why...

My first was a waitress at a Coffee Shop/Restaurant.I lasted about 3 weeks. I started a 6:00 am and had to have coffee ready and clean bathrooms before opening at 6:30 am. I hated that job. Also the guy I worked for was a--hole.

My first job was at a music/movie/book store in the mall, and it was incredibly boring. I worked in the music section, and we were supposed to ask people if they needed any help, but no one ever did, so I ended up spending most of my time straightening up the rows of CDs and watching the clock to see when it would be time to go home!

I worked at the bakery from the time I was 16 until I was 19. We used to have to come in on overtime to make cookies trays during the holidays and pack up orders for babkas, stollen & bread/rolls. The cookie trays would be stacked in bread trays (those plastic orange things) almost straight up to the ceiling! Those customers were insane during the holidays, weren't they?

That's right, while I was finishing high school and uni I was a McDonalds chick!
The thought of dumping the huge wad of shortening into the vat to cook fries makes me want to throw up now.
I remember my trainee wage was something like $4.20 an hour.

My first job was working at Pig N Whistle making ice cream cones and sundeas for customers. My twin sister worked there too and we alot of fun fooling customers. The best part of the job was eating our mistakes.
