Good memory Lisa. Yes, while in Spain I was 6 hours ahead of the east coast. I always felt like I was missing something.

Maine is beautiful and I love it already, snow and all.

Thanks! I don't know about the wit and wisdom but I will sure try. It will take me awhile to get caught up and I can't wait to dig in.

You are so sweet! What a great welcome back. I feel like I am coming home and it feels good. I have missed you all.

Things I missed but didn't know it until I had them again:

- Being in the same time zone as my family and friends
- I can shop anytime I want to (not just from 10-6)
- So many more choices for everything
- I can buy more soy products than just milk
- When I am lost I can ask for directions and can actually
understand what I am being told
- It is just wonderful to be back in my own country again
- Seeing the American Flag everywhere
- my daughter has more choices and opportunities in high
school
- The joy of watching her experience a stateside high school
for the first time
- I can paint my house any color I want. No more beige or
white walls
- Sam's Club
- More than 6 channels on the tv and so many choices
- HGTV

I'm sure there are many more but I can't think of them right now. It is just the little every day things that we take for granted. Don't get me wrong, I loved living in Spain and the whole European experience but it is nice to be home.

Maine is beautiful and the people are so friendly and nice. I feel very happy.

It is good to hear from you. Moving is such a pain, the packing and unpacking. We were so stressed out but made it through. It is all worth it in the end.

Good luck with your move!

Steph,

Thanks! All the major stuff has been unpacked. Just the little things left and I hate those. Don't always know what to do with the little things. I still have a few things that I can't find like my bread knife. I know it is somewhere just don't know where. I'll find everything eventually.

That list of things you missed is VERRRY interesting! And very odd too! You can't paint your house any color you want in Spain? And you have to shop only between 10-6? Strange, very strange.

You find Mainers friendly, do ya? REALLY? I'm surprised, 'cause we sure didn't used to be! If you weren't a native Mainer, we wouldn't have anything to do with you. And if you were visitin' for the summer, we wanted you to spend your money and then go back home!

Maine is beautiful, you're absolutely right! We still own a cottage on Lake Kezar (Lovell, Maine), although it's undergoing major remodelling, so it's no longer a cottage, more like a magnificent mansion. (Okay, so it's not mine any more, I gave my interest in it to my brother.) Damn.

Anyway, it's WONDERFUL having you back! Will you stay here for good now?
