Just trying to think of something safe to hand out that won't tempt me to cheat. All I can think of is Twizzlers. Anyone got any ideas?

Those fortune cookies are so cute! They would be great for a Halloween party!

I saw an ad in the paper today for gummy Life Savers, so I that's an idea too.

What about suckers? My girls love eating them. Last year we gave out dum dums and we still have some around the house. I am so horrible that I don't let them eat them often. This year we will have the rehersal for my sister-in-laws wedding so I not sure I even need to buy any candy.

Anything without fat ought to be fine...anything gummy, Twizzlers like you said, suckers are good but maybe look for the ones with "safety handles" for younger kids, any hard candy would work (you could buy a mixed bag of mint, cinnamon, butterscotch, etc., and give out a small handful), real fruit leather, small boxes of Nerds or Runts, Sweet Tarts, Smarties...browse the candy section at Target and see what you can find!

Don't know where you live, Mags, but fast food joints often sell coupons for free fries, etc. I got a bunch 10 coupons for a dollar at Burger King. Unless you're into eating paper.... I know - I can't buy Halloween candy until the day of or I get into it. (blush)

Well, thanks for all the great ideas everybody! I just now FINALLY got my candy! LOL Trust me - it wasn't on purpose. I found this cool IBS-safe mix. (Yup, that's what it said on the bag too! LOL Just kidding! ) Anyway, I ended up getting a huge bag mix of sweetarts, lemonheads, spree, swedish fish, sour patch kids, and nerds to name a few. Yes, Nerds! I have been craving them ever since you mentioned them, TessLouise! LOL

Happy Halloween everbody!
