So, we (I) just finished a huge project at work, which was done with the help of a great production company. Yes, we did pay them, but they also donated thousands of dollars of their time. No final figures yet, but I am guessing their donated time is probably close to my annual salary. Anyway, I'd like to send them some sort of thank-you gift. It will be just from me personally, not from my co-workers or boss. I want to send them something as a thanks from me as project director, if that matters.
The project is a massive DVD - 38 tracks all about the museum I work at. It's been an odessey of over two years. In fact, my husband & I had just started dating when I wrote the grant for it at the end of 2002. I could go on and on, but I won't...not now, anyway.
Should I send flowers or some sort of gift basket? Would it be hokey if I put together a gift basket instead of paying some florist to do one? Opinions? Thoughts? Thanks!

I think personalized gift baskets are WAY better than one companies put together for you. I say go for it, that's a thoughtful gift, and who doesn't love getting them??

ya you could easily personalize it.
My mother does that with gift baskets for xmas.
she'll put assorted mustards, cooking mitts, spatulas, salsas, jellies, chocolate in lovely themed baskets. what are you thinking about putting in yours?

It's early in the morning and I am not sure if you said how many people but another thing that I have done is bring lunch to the entire staff. Can get costly if it is a large number of people.
If you go the gift basket route, doing one yourself is best I think because you have probably learned the likes and dislikes of some of the folks and can integrate that into the basket.

You just gave me the first really good laugh I've had in days!!!
Just the thought of giving a normal person an IBS gift basket... SO FUNNY!! I'm just imagining the look on someone's face to get a basket full of imodium.

How about a huge lunch? I have actually send a few pizzas and salads etc to a company for purchasing a big sale from me when I was in sales. Everyone needs to eat and it's a nice treat.

I'd send lunch, but I'm not sure if I can afford a nice lunch for them, to be honest. That's why I'm leaning towards a gift basket or flowers.

Yes, you do! I like it!
Maybe instead of a basket, all the goodies should be in a nice pail to be used as an emergency potty.
