horrible reflux!....help!!!!

My mother has been having horrible reflux lately and she asked me if I would post a message to see if anyone had any home remedies, OTC's and such. She's currently taking aciphex. However, she says it only works sometimes. Any suggestions other than chamomile tea??? She would really appreciate it. Thanks!!!

Your poor mother! Reflux sucks. I'm also on Aciphex and I can't believe it only works sometimes. Is she taking the generic? This didn't work as well for me as the brand name. Of course, I don't eat the reflux triggers like tomatoes, peppermint, chocolate, soda, etc. I'm afraid there isn't much OTC that helps me, but chewable Tums can help if it hasn't gotten too bad.
If she's cut reflux triggers out of her diet and is still getting terrible reflux on Aciphex, she should probably go back to her doctor and ask for something like Nexium, which is a lot stronger.
I hope she feels better soon!
