Hehe. Fooled you. I'm impressed with everyone's trees, most especially Ashley's. I don't bother with the tree thing.

You did fool me!! I was looking forward to seeing your tree!! I haven't put up a tree this year, either. I'm not in the mood.....I don't know why..... Bah Humbug!! Have you never put up a christmas tree, or just not this year?? I have ALWAYS had a tree every single year, till this year. Just don't feel like messing with it. Too broke, anyway!

Ashley, you're so cute, and your adorable little tree matches your personality. I LOVE that you put the two biggest ornaments at the top, something I would never do.
It may be small, but it's FULL of character and charm! It's got SOUL, girl!
Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!

Do you have white lights on it? When you look at it some have a tint of red so I couldn't tell if they were white or colored. Now that's a thread to start. Which do you prefer? White or colored????

Aw, I love seeing other peoples trees!! So pretty!! This is the first x-mas that I've not put up a tree. I'm really missing it but I've been so sick with this pregnancy and now the death of my freind and we will be gone for a week and half out west during x-mas, we just decided it was too much to do right now.
I hope everyone else posts pictures though and they are so fun to see!

Our living room is dark so I am not sure it will show well...here goes. It is a mish-mash tree with ornaments collected over the years. I buy my kids an ornament every year so that when they get married, they will have ornaments for their firt Christmas.

I LOVE your gorgeous floors and those awesome doors! WOW, what a beautiful home you have! Are those doors double-paned? Beautiful, just beautiful.
Oh, wait. I was supposed to look at the tree, wasn't I? Was there a tree in the picture?

I agree, Great house Rachel!! And oh yeah, the tree is lovely too!! I happen to like the mish mash trees better than the "theme" trees!

Thank you...we love the house; God has blessed us real good!
The panes are not double but they have that beveled thing going.
The house was built in 1977 so we have the 8" ceiling and those took some time to get used to. 12 years ago, they remodeled and a small living room got reeeeaaaalll big and that is where our tree is.
The room doesn't photograph very well because it is so dark but the entire house is as cool as what you see!
Thanks....didja go back and look at the tree?????????

I don't have a tree in my room, but here is a couple of pix from when I was in my apt.
My village:
And here is a blurry pic of my tree. I think there were 800 lights. I also have a mish mash of ornaments. I wish I had my stuff here. The tree they put up in the dining room is awful this year. They did it in a rush just to get it out of the way.
I am doing some stuff in my room and will post when it is done.

I am surprised your tree didn't go up in flames! I love the blue wallpaper.
You seem so young to be in an assisted living place (please forgive me if I am wrong)....other than your IBS are you in good health?
I just think you are such a kick...I want you to be happy.

I can't get our tree till the kitchen-diner is done as the living room is full of dining furniture and boxes of kitchen stuff. The entire house is in a state atm...I can't wait till it's done! The floor's nearly finished (I've been grouting all day apart from rest breaks!) and the units arrive tomorrow from Ikea.
I've got a wreath up tho! Even made it myself. I'll try and get a piccie tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm too young to be here, but losing my apt. (they sold the bldg.) and my business at the same time put me in quite a state. I can't make it alone on my SS disability so I am better off here. I always had crappy jobs so my SS is only $332 a month. At least here I have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in. I finally have a good room mate so as frustrating as it is at times ... it's better than a shelter(which is where I was minutes away from). I get treated pretty good. There are people here younger than me so it isn't all "old" people and I stay in my room on the computer alot anyway. I LOVED that wallpaper. There was enough white with the woodwork and the curtains that it wasn't too dark in the room. I lived there for nearly 29 years.

Well I guess it is better than nothing...I just feel like you have so much life to live. Maybe you could become their "Love Boat's - Julie McCoy" and put a little excitement in your place!
I am glad you have a good roomie...that makes all the difference doesn't it? What kind of business did you have?

Here's ours! Finally got done decorating today.....our tradition is to not put presents under the tree at all until Christmas Eve. That's why there aren't any presents under it.
Hope everyone else is getting all done with their decorating too

Linz! This sounds like I wrote it! We have a kitchen-cum-diningroom. The kitchen part is in a new extension and the dining part is in the "old" house. The floor collapsed on the "old" is dining part the week before the wedding. We got a guy to start doing it last week. It turned out that under the floorboards (which had rotted) there was no ventilation and just rubble! So, my diningroom table and my dresser are in the sitting room. The other stuff is in the spare room. ARGH!
My dining area floor is mud and sand with binbags over it. All the floors in my house are destroyed from the mud and sand and there is nowhere to put my Christmas decorations.
I am thinking now that it's going to be next week before anything happens with the floor so I don't know if it's worthwhile putting up a tree at all this year. Might try to find somewhere to put it as it will cheer me up to have one!

I can't believe it! After all that work on your house already! I love your new kitchen, I didn't realize it was part of the new extension! You have the nicest house. I need a house... in Ireland!
I'm just greedy! LOL! I have a great little place, plus a nice apartment. We just got some framed artwork for the living room, a Mark Rothko lithograph. It's huuuuge.

thanks Nelly.
We didn't do the extension ourselves, the people who owned the house before us did. we just re-did the bathroom and retiled the utility room and bathroom and did other decorative bits, and built an ensuite in the bedroom.
Oh, if you could see the place now, picture my TINY sitting room with my ENORMOUS dining table (legs removed) propped against the rather larger dresser in front of the fire....What's that..you're asking what other space there is in that tiny room..EXACTLY!
Here's a pic of what it currently looks like

Well at least we have unfestive company! Now if only we celebrated Thanksgiving, we could have had all this stuff be a pain for that (I'm convinced these things happen at the worst possible time ON PURPOSE! ) and then be okay for Christmas. Easter doesn't sound like so much fun, does it?

Finally finished with finals, so I'm taking the evening off to decorate and wrap. Had myself a mug of dairy-free hot chocolate from the recipe boards with my after dinner pills
Here's our decorated tree! It's a live one Mac's dad sent us just before Thanksgiving:
