While singing to Aaron tonight as I tucked him in, he talked about my wedding rings, how they mean I am married to his Daddy. He said, "I don't have a ring because I'm not married. 5 year olds don't get married. You have to be 20 or 30 or 100 to get married....(then he just stared at his hand and sort of sighed, then said sort of defeated-like)... I don't like Sarah yet but I guess when I'm older I'll marry her." I said, "Sarah, your sister??" He heaved a big sigh and said, "Yah... I don't really like her yet but when I'm a man I guess I'll marry her". I laughed and explained you don't marry your brothers or sisters. He seemed REALLY relieved!!!

How cute and funny!! Out of the mouth of babes!! We have a book at my school where we write down cute stories that the kids say. Our principal says that we should publish it and we would make a fortune out of the cute things kids say!!

aww kids really are the cutest!

I work in a school too and I hear tons of cute things on a daily basis!

examples...
one fifth grade boy talking about how a football player was kicked off a team...
"he was caught doing mary-ju-weenie-wannie"

one fourth grader talking to my 37 year old supervisor...
"yeah, learning about the ice age was so cool! I love it! Were you alive during the ice age?"

Another one from a second grader...
"my dad is ancient. He was born in the late 1900's"

haha I know.. it made us feel old too (and i'm only 24!!)

Anyways, he was referring to marijuana, but he's never actually heard it before. He read it some where and didn't know how to pronounce it correctly (which isn't a bad thing considering he's only in the fifth grade). He thought he sounded really good and smart while he was saying it.

My youngest who's now 7 always wanted to marry me when he was 3 or 4. I too explained, you can't marry me, I'm your mommy! Needless to say, he's now "older" and girls are yucky to him. It was nice though while it lasted!!!
