If you have the time (and interest), check out this website to take a look at the neighborhood where we're building. It's at www.cunnanegroup.com. Don't do the slideshow (it goes so fast you can't see the photos. Just use the arrow to advance the photos.)
#24--what our front porch will be like #45--our exterior will be like this (we're building the smallest home there.) It will be a khaki color with black shutters and a brick red front door. #48--our living room (I hate the way they have this model decorated. That's not my style at all!) #51--our breakfast area will be like this (notice the screened-in porch behind it.) #59--This is the kitchen and the glazed cabinets I selected. They're prettier than the picture shows. Our island won't be this wide. Ours will be narrower and will have the granite hanging over so that you can put barstools there. And it will be painted black!) #62---how our screened-in porch will be #76--a better picture of the glazed cabinets!
I can't wait to sit on the front porch with my dogs!!!!

They just don't build houses that look like that (from the outside) in southern California. It is so beautiful. That porch is to die for!

I don't think the website is linked from what I have typed (sorry, don't know how to do that!) So you will have to type in the web address yourself---and it should come up. Try that and see if it works!

After more than a year of looking for a house/townhouse, we decided to build because we did not want to settle for a floorplan that we did not like. This one is all on one floor which I will love! It has been painful for me to go up and down the stairs in this house with my back and foot problems.
We sold our house quickly and had to make a quick decision fast. The only negative is we'll have to move into an apartment temporarily while we build. That means moving twice! Moving day is Saturday! Pray that it goes smoothly!
But I am so excited about our new house!

Thank you! I cannot wait to sit on that front porch--and the screened porch in the back. This is a very different style in our community too. Most of the homes here are 2-story brick Colonials---and they all look alike. It will be nice to have something different.
This neighborhood won "Community of the Year" recently for its innovative design. I love the parks/green space they left for residents to relax in. And there is a swimming pool/clubhouse/fitness room 1 1/2 blocks from our lot!
We just snuck into this area. The houses are getting bigger and bigger. We are building the smallest floorplan.

How fun! Do you get a refrigerator under your island? We have two full size refrigerators in our house...(came with the house, not my idea but I love it!) and I use both!
It is nice to have cold soda's for when company comes and I will have room this Thanksgiving for everything. yahoo!

Nah, no refrigerator under the island. That is only if you go into the "custom kitchen program" which is a big fee. We already have a compact refrigerator (one that my son used his first year in the college dorm). We will probably put that out on the screened in porch. Like we are too lazy to walk from the porch to the kitchen refrigerator to get a cold drink! Ha! Oh, well....

Your house is just DARLING! I'm so jealous! I so want to move more south. I hate winters in PA!! HATE THEM!!! I'm hoping maybe one of my children will pick a college down there or more south and we can visit him. All the houses look so quiant and beautiful. How long will it take to build and when will you be in it???
You will love sitting on that porch with your doggies. OMG they will love it too. I can just picture it!!!
Good luck with picking and choosing all your colors and such. It is a hard thing to do. Luckily our home was a spec home and all we had to chose was our carpets. Has it's advantages and disadvantages!!! Have fun!

We should be in sometime in February. I can't wait! I just picked out the ceramic tile for the bathrooms and laundry room. Tomorrow my husband and I are going to the lighting store to pick out fixtures. That should be an adventure! To get the two of us to agree on something is a miracle!
I have never lived "up north." I cannot stand cold weather. I think it's cold here (in NC)!!! This is the furthest north I've lived! Ha!
