It's 1:30 am here and I've only just noticed. I guess the (half-dose) sleeping pill I took 2 1/2 hours ago (thinking I'd stop surfing when I got sleepy) ain't working! Okay, better haul ass to bed and take another one.

It's so frustrating being wide awake now when I struggle so much in the day.

I too have a very hard time sleeping. Very frustrating isn't it? I think I do my best sleeping from 4 or 5AM until about 8. Unfortunately, I have to be up at 6:15 on school days with the kids. I never thought of sleeping pills, I've always used something like Benadryl when I needed something. Do you sleep all thought the night?

Sometimes sleeping pills have the opposite effect. I was prescribed sleeping pills when my uncle was missing due to Hurricane Katrina (we found him!)...I was so uptight they had the opposite effect on me. I took one the other night and was essentially "drunk" all day. Strange huh?

I've always been an insomniac, so things that typically work for everyone else, has a different effect on me. Even my Benadryl will only work a night or two, then after that it will keep me up....:( Insomnia sucks!

I recently got Mike Mahoney's Insomnia CD and I love it, even tho it's not actually perfect for my sleep problem (usually it's non-restorative sleep).

And my doc's given me something called Zopiclone. It works pretty well but if I take a full dose, I'm groggy the next morning - can't win, eh?

I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the info, that's great! Alyson
