Hi my name is Laura and I was diganosed with IBS in August so I bought the book and started reading and changed my diet to the best of my ability. I am still not sure if IBS is what I have but I am pretty sure. I know it is not cancer of anykind or gallstones. I just don't feel wel like all the time.At first it was IBS-C but now it is mostly IBS-D. So I guess it is A. I wanted to know if anyone ever tried colonics. Also I am thinking about trying acupuncture and I wanted to know how it helps. Sorry if this question has been posted before.

Hi there. I would definetly try acupuncture before colonics. Infact, I would only go for a colonic if it was the last option left! Its highly invasive and not good for a sensitive bowel. I know you are probably desperate to be rid of this hideous problem...but colonic is 99% of the time NOT the way to go. Try exercise, yoga, massage, chiropracter, acupuncture, diet etc before this.

..in almost all cases. REALLY not a good idea. They're far too harsh for a sensitive IBS colon.

Had a non-IBS cousin try this and about died from the pain! Very bad, very not good idea for an IBS person!!

Lsgator...
Have you looked into the IBS hypnotherapy that's endorsed by Heather? I did the cds for the last 100 days of my pregnancy and have been IBS-free since. I was IBS-C. now, I have no idea if my temporary-but-hoping-it's-permanent remission is from pregnancy hormones or the cds, but it can't hurt.
At the very least, you'll get a very relaxing half hour of "you" time each day.
