All too much!

I'm having a bad time atm. My IBS was stabilised until August when I got flu and got really run down. Then I started Heather's diet and it was really helping, but now something else seems to be wrong.

I was feeling really tired all last week and on Thursday I had to leave work early as I felt so crap - exhausted and headachey on top of usual IBS tummy ache and nausea. Still felt ill on Friday and this Monday, I was feeling so awful with exhaustion, faintness and a headache, as well as pretty bad tummy ache and nausea, that I went to the doctor. She didn't like how much my tummy hurt (all over!) when she examined me and ordered a blood test and a week off work!

Luckily I was only doing rather unnecessary training at work, so they didn't hit the roof, but it's now Friday and I still feel crap. I slept pretty much all Monday afternoon and Tuesday. Wednesday I was up all day, but I paid for it yesterday when I could hardly move.

It's all just getting too much...whatever this is on top of my IBS. It's like I'm never well and I hate it. I used to do so much pre-IBS and now I can hardly do anything.

Sorry to vent so much at you guys, but you're all so sympathetic. My fiance's having a hard enough time with me ill (again!) for me to moan about how naff it all makes me feel.

Has anyone had symptoms like this with their IBS? It all sounds like a virus, but I don't know anymore. My body does not make sense.

Thanks, Linz

I'm so sorry you're feeling so ill. I really hope things improve for you soon.

I think most of us find that when we get run down the IBS gets a lot worse so don't lose heart. If you've been stable before then you should beable to get that way agin.

Sometimes it's harder for us with IBS to get over other illnesses because the IBS flares up which makes the other illness worse, which makes the IBS worse and so on. It's a vicious cycle and I know just what you mean about being sick all the time.

Please get as much sleep, rest and relaxation as you can. Do you like to do Yoga or listen to relaxation tapes? I find the clamer the mind the clamer the body.

Anyway, hope things pick up really soon and in the meantime I shall send my shoulder across the oceans for you..

Kerrie

Thanks Kerrie

I'm feeling so much better now! I think I must have had a virus or something that made my IBS go psycho!
