UTI's and IBS don't mix well

I got my first UTI and my first bad IBS in attack in months today. I am taking antibodics for the first time in years and have no idea how it will make me feel. Probably will have D instead of C for a change.
I am resting tonight with a heating pad on my stomach and it does help relieve the pain.
I got my UTI from not going to the bathroom when I need to go, because I'm too busy at work to go. My patients will just have to wait a couple of minutes for me, because I do not want a UTI again. NOOOOOOOOOOO fun!!!!

I hope you feel better soon. I've never had a UTI (knock on wood) but i've heard they suck.

UTI's are awful!!! I have UC and the meds they gave for the first UTI gave me really bad D. But the next time I had a UTI they put me on Cipro for it and it didn't affect my bowels at all. Apparently Cipro is good for UC b/c it firms it up a bit.

Hey there, Barb!
Oh yeah. I get those damn UTIs all the time. We can't figure out why, so my doc finally sent me to a urologist. I do everything "right" but I still come down with them. Finally, the urologist told me some gals are just prone to these damn things, while others do everything "wrong" and never get 'em. Go figure.
And, BTW, watch out for those antibiotics. I found only one -- ONE -- that doesn't trigger an IBS attack. I know that's unique to me, but there are also a lot that our friend, Barbie, can't tolerate either. I take those damn things, only to end up with cramps and BIG D like I've never had before.
Fun stuff, eh?

I hope the antibiotic doesn't upset you to much. Lets hope this goes away quickly and you feel better soon!
