It's been awhile, but I just wanted to say hello and give a little update. My daughter (who has Trisomy 18) recently turned 7 years old and continues to defy medical odds. My son (who has autism) is now in the 6th grade. He is very functional, but school is getting tough for him (do you remember when you were in the 6th grade? I remember it being a tough year). Sometimes I think it is special that both my children are disabled. It has its challenges but the rewards are special too. I've attended several events of Special Olympics and have noticed that many of these children are very loving and quite friendly. Some of them are really good athletes. -- Hope everyone is sticking to your diets and enjoying life. [polltitle=What do you remember about sixth grade?]I remember it was 1971 and only the second year that the elementary school had air conditioning. I also discovered girls that year.

Hey whats up marty!
check the thread started by me titled 'I got an interview', I know that we talked about autism and aspergers before, I have been dabbling in the field working with those kinda kids now, I don't know if it is my calling, but I really really enjoy it for now anyways!
And you are right, alot of those kids are really loving and sweet kids! I don't think people realize that they are so much like other kids, just , well, alittle special with different needs and obstacles. Can't help but fall for them!
Hope everything is well with you, and it is really awesome that your daughter is showing those doctors with getting older and bigger everyday, seeing how they said she wouldn't be making it this far! She really is an inspiration to the world that you don't have to give up on what medicine or a doctor says, there are miracles everyday, and there is never a point to stop trying!
Do you have a link or something to what it is she has? I may google it later, but alas, I *am* a 21 year old, and it is Friday night, so I am going out in like a couple of minutes!
