Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that we adopted an adorable 2 yr old Golden from Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue.

We picked her up yesterday and she is so sweet and well behaved.

I still miss Rusty something awful but Little Miss Annie is bringing me a lot of joy.

Introducing Miss Annie:

Annie is beautiful Barbie! I'm so glad that you were able to get another dog and give that gorgeous girl a forever home! And kudos on taking an older dog, I know how much harder they are to adopt out...I'm sure that girl will give you tons of love in return

Ahhh, Barbie! She is beautiful, and you two make such a cute couple. I know she will bring you lots of joy. Good for you for rescuing a precious dog that needs a loving home, instead of buying a puppy from a puppy mill like most people would do.

Barbie,
Miss Annie is beautiful. You two look so happy together.
Barbie where is the Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Resue at? I live in La Porte?
We have two dogs now but my daughter may want to get our grandbaby (Marissa) a dog. By the way your grandbaby is just beautiful as well.
Again Miss Annie is Beautiful.

I am so glad to hear another wonderful dog has been rescued and brought into a home filled with love. Those rescue programs do such a great job! She looks great and very happy. With a smile like that, you must just want to snuggle her all the time. I can't wait to see more pics of Miss Annie.

Hi,

Here is a link to the Golden Beginnings

http://wcnet.net/golden-beginnings-of-texas/availablegoldens.htm

If you look at the ones that were adopted in Sept....Bacall is the one we got. ( we re-named her Annie)

We had to go to Magnolia to get her. They had an adoption day last Sunday so all the dogs were at one place. They don't really have one central location.....there are contact people and most of the dogs stay in foster homes all over town till they are current on all their shots and medical needs are met, then they are ready to be adopted.

You can call 281 480-4942 if you want more info. You will have to fill out an application and they do ask for a $225 tax deductible donation to help cover care for the dogs.

It was the best thing we could have done because she is a sweetheart.

My grandaughter's name is Marisah ( and your's is Marissa) and she is 10 months old.
Thanks for the compliment. I only wish she lived closer...she's in Dallas.

Hi Lisa,

I'm so sorry about Reilly. How old is he? Is he ill? I understand exactly what you are going through. Rusty was 13 and had really been going downhill fast. Last Wednesday was one of the roughest days I've ever been through. It was so hard to let him go but it was the best thing for him and that's what we had to think of.

Getting a new companion has really been a help to us. The house just seemed so empty and now we have some joy again.

I know I can't give you any words to console you or help you when the time comes.....everyone just has to go through the grieving process.

He's 14! His back legs are pretty weak and we have to pick him up to get him outside. Today was rough. He didn't want to stand at all. Everytime we set him up he'd just give up and fall. I told my husband to not make him and that if he had an accident on his blanket then so be it since he's not going to be around much longer. It's kinda like taking care of an elderly person. It really is. I need to wipe his eyes, wash the comforter that he's laying on, make sure he's comfortable. He has a sort of bed sore on his hip that won't heal. He's just a mess. But he doesn't seem quite ready yet to give up. Everyone tells us that we will know and that he will let us know when he's had enough. We all think we are prepared for it but I know when the time comes it's going to be awful

I'm so glad you are doing better with your new dog. She is just what you needed I'm sure. You are right though, Rusty will never be replaced. Annie just helps ease the sadness that you felt when you came into an empty house. I was never a cat person and we got our youngest son a kitten for his birthday last year and believe it or not, when REilly does go, at least I feel I still have some companionship with our cat. It's not the same as a dog but it's still a cute furry companion.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words Barbie. I will let you know when the time comes about Reilly.
