Heyy Everyone...
Today was my first day of grade 12~! LOL ,...okay so i went to my spanish class today...and its supposed to be grade 11 spanish...(because i moved away last year..and didnt get to complete it..) So...i showed up...and half the class was grade 11's...and half was grade 12 AP (advanced placement..counts as a first year university credit)I was like..."How the heck is this going to work?" Grade 12 AP is 2 levels above me!!And i hanvt spoke spanish in a year! Ive only done one year!! So my teacher started speaking...and blah blah blah blah I had no idea what he was saying!! So all the grade 11's were like.."we haveno idea what your saying...can u slow down please" and then al the grade 12's were like.."this is way to EASY!" and uh it was like...so confusing! And worst of all....My teachers frist language is french..and then spanish...and THEN english! So his english is horrible!! hahaah this is going to be an Interesting year!!
anybody else have a first day of school today? lol

Most of my kids were okay, though there was one who was really obnoxious that I got his name wrong. I called him "Joe," and he was really snide about saying, "It's JoeSEPH!" Well, excyeeeuuuuuuuuse me! I have a few seniors who needed a little too much pushing for the first day of school, but all in all the day went well.

Heh. Reminds me of my first semester of college French. I had spent the summer in Italy on a dig and only picked up the very basics of Italian. Back in the states about 3 weeks later, my instructor asked if I spoke Italian because I was speaking French with an Italian accent. So I'd picked up the accent but not the language. The similar part to your experience, Honey Bun, is that my instructor was from Brazil.

His first language was Portuguese, but he also spoke French & English. Luckily, his English was pretty good. People that are fluent in multiple languages just blow me away. I think it's incredible!
