These stations should be fined for doing this, IMHO!

Yes, but it would take a great amount of resources to prove it. I work in the financial serverices industry and I find it to be reprehensible what tradres are doing. There was a supposed premium built into oil prices for such a disaster. Now that it has happened they just use it as an excuse to speculate even more. Who profits? The traders and oil companies. Disgusting. For me, I am not buying gas unless I REALLY have to. I refuse to pay these prices. Until people scale back on car usage and taking long and unecessary trips, prices will not go down.

I agree, Tommy. It's a disgrace. They have us at their mercy. I also will only buy gas when absolutely necessary. My husband and I only drive to and from work and then do nearby errands only when we have no choice. It makes you think twice about running to the store or to the bank on a whim. I'll be staying home a lot more now. Kristine

Are you converting what the price is from $/litres to $/gallon? I never knew how to do the conversion but if that's what we're paying in Canada, I think I'm going to go throw up! I can't understand why our prices would be higher than those in the United States when the hurricane didn't even do any damage here. What is your price per litre there?

Two fo the richest countries in the world, and they're running out of gas? Baloney.
WE're paying $50 for a full tank right now, DH and I....oh, no wait, we'd be paying about $65 a tank. Yikes. I remember when my car couldn't hold even 20, and that was less than 8 years ago.

OMG, I am SOOOOOOOOO sorry, Gerry! This is horrible news. Aug. 16? It's been two weeks? Oh, my goodness, this is really terrible.
Have your children been spending time with you, I hope? And your grandson who you love so much? Oh dear, Gerry, I am really TERRIBLY sorry. I can't imagine what it must be like to lose someone you lived with for 53 years; it has to be the worst time of your life. I am SOOOOO sorry!
Will you stay in that big house, or will you move to a smaller place? How are you getting around?
My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Gerry.
Bev

I feel so badly for you...you have us and we are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please know that you can always log on and have us with you.
It's too early to make any definite decisions about the house...let your kids help you figure it all out...what's best for you. Do they live close to you? Maybe you should move closer to one of them if they live far away. I'm sure they would love to have you near them and it would be good for you too, if you all get along. I just hate thinking of you all alone in that house thinking and being so sad all day long.
Big hugs to you.
Love

You take the price per litre and multiply it by 4.2 - there is 4.2 litres per gallon. That's what DH said anyway - and yes that is what we are paying in Canada! We are paying 1.22 per litre here which equals that!!! Blech
And yes, I agree I have no idea why we pay so much more for this than the US - guess we have those extra freight expenses to get it all the way up here LOL
