You don't know how special you are to that little boy! Many of Luke's preschool workers felt this way about him but once we reached Elem school it was SOOOO not like that... it was not pretty.

I can't share the article online anymore, Im' afraid I'll be breaking my contract with the magazine, but it comes out in Autism/Asperger's Digest next July (long way off, I know). As a teacher, if you dont' already get that, you should - it's a great publication. Your school might cover the cost?

Hugs to you for being such a loving teacher!!! They DO make me want to try harder, that is for sure!

I am a substitute teacher waiting for my big break. So till someone gets sick, retires, gets pregnant or, sigh, dies, I wait....this area of the world has an abundance of teachers and I can't move, because DH owns an Outback Steakhouse out here.

The little guy is in a school I sub in often. He's given me eye contact before and I almost peed myself. he's great and we get along very well. He's even leaned up against me-sort of an asperger's hug. his assistant is FREAKING amazing!! She's his hero! She's come a long way with him and he's very bright and very capable. That's really really lucky- and hard work too.

God blessed you with a challenge, eh??

Michele - you are definitely a super Mom with many special gifts. God bless you. I'm so glad you and Luke are getting the recognition you deserve. Please e-mail me a copy when you are allowed to. I'd love to read it. Autism has always amazed me. Such untapped potential. Hugs, Alicia.
