Where do I stand now, almost one month following the colonoscopy?

First, the suppositories didn't help at all, and in fact made it one of the worst weeks ever. And so I stopped those. Now, I'm going to give my GI a stool sample and if that comes back blank, I'm going into a upper GI endoscopy the following week.

As for the screwy rectum: Since the suppositories didn't work, we're on the assumption it's now a prolapse and I will have to talk to a surgical consult. And if I do in fact need to have surgery, I have no idea what I'm going to do about school, so let's remain hopefull.

Meanwhile, it's less than 2 weeks until I head back to school, and aren't I glad? Right.

I'm sure you wanted this to all be done with by the time school started.

What is a prolapse and how do they find out if you have one?

Suppositories don't work for me either. Is this the only reason they are considering a prolapse or are there other symptoms to make them consider that?

How are you feeling? Are you able to control the C at all?

Prolapse is when the skin folds over onto itself. It was discovered during my colonoscopy. Except that for me, it presented as both proctitis and prolapse and they wanted to try treating it as proctitis before the prolapse.

As for the C, not so well. I'm straining a lot, I've got a lot of gas, and yesterday I had a ton of BMs. I can probably attribute that to the fact Sunday was a fast day and there was a lot of sudden food intake that evening. But it still hurt like heck and today I've had no BMs. I think my body just shut down for recovery.

Sorry you're having so much trouble. I hope they can get everything straightened out before you have to go back to school.
