Shane and Shell,
I'm hoping for the best and I wanna say that Shelby gave some great advice! I thought about you guys today. This Internal Resorption stuff sounds scary, too, but not as scary as the "C" word. I hope you get the all clear for that!
Still praying for you both,
Terri

Thinking of you, and hoping everything turns out ok. Let us know what the oral surgeon says.

I wish I could get you to talk to my 18-year-old son. We found some chewing tobacco in his room recently, and we had a long talk with him about the dangers of using it. Of course, he thinks his parents are stupid and don't know anything. He just rolled his eyes, and said, "You guys worry about everything!"

GOOD NEWS... it's NOT CANCER!!

Shane was given pain killers and will be scheduling a surgery hopefully on a Friday in Sept so that he will only miss 1-2 day from work. He will have the following done.

Large piece of his jaw and gum in the front along with at least one tooth, maybe two will be removed. They will take a section of jaw from the back of his mouth near his wisdom teeth and put it in the front. The medical recommendation is that he will also need an implant but the insurance may not cover that due to high cost so he may end up with just a bridge.

They will not need to do any cutting on the outside of the mouth so that is a good thing.

I will take that Friday and Monday (if needed) off with him and get him to and from the appointment...he will be totally knocked out for this baby!! He will probably be eating applesauce, pudding, and baby food for a few days.... poor guy!!

BUT NO CANCER!!

Thank you so much everyone for your prayers.... they have been answered once again!!

What a relief. Sounds like one heck of a procedure. Will be praying for him. Let us know when it's scheduled.
Hugs, Alicia.

YAAY! Great news!

My hubby has had extensive oral surgery, too. He had some tissue from the roof of his mouth transplanted around a tooth, a bone transplant & a tooth implant. He was a real trooper through it all and hardly complained at all. Just needed pain killers a couple of days and then Advil.

Hopefully Shane won't have much trouble either. Anyway, Good Luck.

Although that doesn't sound like a pleasant procedure, I know you are both thankful it's not cancer! Good luck with the procedure, and take good care of him, Shell!
