It's strange to be at work on my birthday! I guess they aren't so special once you pass 21. I am 24 and trying to focus on everything I have accomplished in my life, but I still feel like I'm nowhere near where I pictured I'd be by 24. I definitely thought I'd be married and probably pregnant, living in the 'burbs. Oh well, it's like Cara's profile says ... If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans!
I'm also bummed because my bf is in London and I'm here. I've spent my last 3 birthdays with him so I'm cranky. Hopefully he'll send some pretty flowers. He's coming to visit in 3 weeks so I guess we'll just celebrate then!
I've been keeping up with your appointments and whatnot. I know you must be feeling so frustrated, but I just figure it has to work soon. Getting pregnant has not been the problem for you in the past, and now that you know how to make your body stay pregnant, I know you'll have a baby soon.

Thanks, of COURSE I'm doing something fun tonight. Don't be silly! I wish my bf were here, and actually a lot of my friends are out of town, but it should be fun anyway. I love karaoke, and I go pretty often anyway, so I figured why not. There should be a good group there, so I'm sure it will be a fun time.

I'll be 24 in 16 days too darling, and spent the other night crying to my grandma about how much I haven't accomplished.
anyways she said "Ashley! are you crazy!! you've finished college, moved out on your own, held down a job, got your masters degree, you're working towards your specialist, you're smart blaablaa.." So insert Amanda in there and you've done the same!!

Hey Brittany, thanks! Yup, I am definitely making time to celebrate tonight, don't worry! I got together with my family this weekend for my bday. I got really good stuff! My parents gave me a pretty bracelet and are helping me buy a chair I've had my eye on for a while. My brothers and SILs got me a gorgeous set of nesting end tables, Arabic style, all inlaid wood with intricate patterns. I have a real middle-eastern ecclectic vibe in my apartment, and they are going to be perfect! I'm very excited. The bf probably sent flowers (I've been at work all day, so who knows), but he's coming to visit in August and I said he has to actually go to the store and pick something out for me. I don't care if it's 10 bucks. He's so hard to shop for, and I spend so much time choosing things I hope he'll like, that I don't want him taking the easy way out with flowers. I want him to spend time thinking about what I like! That being said, I do love flowers too, so I hope he still sent them!

I really am trying hard to enjoy my 20's. I just feel like I'm not ready to be mid-twenties, I guess. Oh well. If I'm still living alone next year (ie, not married to my bf or even engaged) I'm going to throw a tremendous hissy fit. Until then I'll try to enjoy the fact that I'm only responsible for myself for now!

Anyways.. I don't think I'd want to live in fairfield county now that I think about it. I lived there in highschool and it was snobby and uptight.
I don't think I could do brooklyn either though. Granted I like boston.. i'm pretty excited about moving to the burbs. the real burbs.. not brooklyn burbs. I'm just not a city slicker kinda girl I don't think. Although I couldn't handle the country either. BUT I could def fall for a cowboy. (read: tim macgraw, keith urban like cowboy).
How bout we pack up shop and move to north carolina or georgia and become southern belles. I'd love to move to either of those places.
only problem is- I think that if you're not married in the south by 24 you really are considered an old maid. I have two girlfriends from alabama who think its insane that I wasn't married at 22 like everyone they know!
