I have been taking Zelnorm pills for about 3 months now. I take 1 pill every 3rd day and it works ok. But I have always read that Zelnorm is only supposed to be for short term use and is not good for women who are trying to become pregnant. Does anyone have anything that they could suggest that i could refer to my doctor. My digestive tract is real slow and my doctor wants me to take 6 metamucil pills per day plus me Zelnorm pill every other day but i feel like its to much. What do I do I dont want to ruin my chances of having kids someday.

Michele knows more, but I think it's just that it's not safe to take whilst pg as they don't know how it affects foetuses. So I don't think it's effects your fertility at all.

Are you on Miralax? I think that's safe while pg as well. Or have you tried magnesium?

No, Zelnorm should affect your future fertility. You just don't want to be taking it WHILE you get pregnant or if you are already pregnant because they don't know what affect it will have on the developing baby!

Miralax is safe for use when pregnant!
