I'm freaking out! The local tv station just said 2 tornadoes touched down in our area of town----near where my son is at work.
Thank God he answered his cell phone (he usually doesn't at work). He is all right. He had heard about the tornadoes, but said he had not seen anything.
You have no idea the panic I felt when I heard them say this on tv! My son works outside---at a golf resort---and is sometimes far from the clubhouse.
CARA----THIS IS NOT FUNNY!!!!
Michelle, if you're reading this---they're headed your way!

Last May we were installing wood floor in our kitchen/dining room during what we thought was just an intense thunderstorm. At one point DH got up and looked outside and called me to the window. We sat there looking at what looked like a fire about 2 blocks away... you know... black smoke. NOT!!! We found out later that week that it was a tornado touching down. Mental head slap!!!! I never in my wildest dreams thought that I wouldn't recognize a tornado... I've been a weather watcher for years and have always wanted to be a storm chaser. We were so lucky that it never came any closer to us!

Yeah, I understand what you're going through. I was in Missouri a few years back and we got a tornado warning... I turned on the tv and instead of the normal blue, green, yellow orange and occasional red I was used to seeing, it showed all orange and red with PURPLE and BLACK. Pretty scary for me as I was on the 17th floor of a hotel at the time!!!!
I have nightmares about tornados! I feel for you!

Yikes!!!! I hate tornadoes!!! We had to take cover last month because of all the funnel clouds that were spotted. We also had our share of water sprouts too, so everybody east of the lake had to take shelter.
Several tornadoes touched down last summer a few miles from us.
Stay safe, although I'm posting alittle late.
