Hello everyone! I was wondering if there are any other Military Wives on this site. My hubby is deployed, and it would be great to meet someone who knows what it is like!!

My husband was in the USMC but we got out due to his mothers illness over 10 years ago. We did many deployments to include Dessert Storm...I feel your pain!

Nice to meet you! I'm Nel. My DBF's dad is heading up the mine sweeping operations in Northern Iraq for Louis Berger (one of the prime contractors). We get really quiet whenever we hear about a contractor getting killed or taken. It's a real rollarcoaster, and he's going to be over there for five years.

The work itself is hard enough, considering he's working with unskilled locals to teach them techniques, protocol, etc. Plus he's working with lots of live explosives as part of his day-to-day job. Scary stuff when you're stuck at home worrying!

Anyway, welcome to the boards! It's a really nice community here!

My hubby is an Army Major stationed in Belgium. Oh, the woes of military life Right now we are waiting on orders to PCS back to the US, and we've been waiting since February! It seems there is always someone or something jamming up the progress of our paperwork...sigh.

Not a military wife but a civilian spouse living overseas. DH is gone right now and has been TDY many times over the past 10 1/2 years. I know what it is like to carry on the day to day with hubby around.

I'm not a military wife, but the daughter of one. (Well, Dad's been retired since 1988, but once a military family, always a military family!) I have the utmost respect for you.

My mother's a military wife, and I'm a military son. We're army brats all around. My father was deployed last year too and will be going back in a few months.
