Ok, this is my first summer in NY...and this is the fourth night in a row I can't sleep. its soooo humid, I am sooo fed up because being awake my tummy starts grumbling and being over hungry and I am running out of food and patience. I was always such a good sleeper till marriage and moving here. I long for my bed in England. We live near the top of the building so all the heat rises to us...I am sooo frustrated. Moan moan moan.

Ugh. I know. It's been over 90 for a week now with high humidity. I've been going to the pool though so it's ok. Do you have AC to turn on?? I would DIE w/o it!

You are absolutely right when you say the humidity and being over 40 in the Houston Texas area is just dreadful.
I live near Houston and I am over 40 as well. I don't know how anyone down here lives without an AC. I don't think anybody ever gets used to this stuff. Everyone turn on the AC and try to chill out.. Take Care

Oh no. I was just in NY and I remember how crazy hot it wason my last day there when the heat wave started.

Do you have a fan? Have you tried taking a cold shower and letting your hair stay wet when you go to bed. That can help.

I used to keep a cold face cloth near my bed and put it on my forehead and that helped.

I'm so sorry. Is an air conditioner not in the budget?

I feel your pain -- I nearly went crazy when I first moved to Chicago because of the heat in the summer, espeically at night. I can just see the board people from Texas laughing to themselves now.

The key is the A/C, if you have it - the saving grace for the bad whether in Halifax is that the ocean breeze cools things down at night here, so we never get the 20+ degree lows.

It's been really hot (90ish and above) and humid here in Philly as well...my tummy's bugging me this week anyway because of finals and not sleeping enough, it'd be even worse if I didn't have my window a/c....plus Mac (my bf) would be dying as well, even though he's from Houston, he can't live without an a/c!
