Well, I lived with three opera singers my senior year of college so I heard opera all the time... I don't know if that counts. I do like opera some, as I like all arts, but I don't know that I can say I've seen a ton. I've seen a version of A Midsummer Night's Dream that was an opera, The Magic Flute, and a lot of various pieces at recitals. My friend works for the Boston Lyric Opera so if I'm ever in Boston when they have a show going I know I can see there's. I saw the other Carmina, Catulli Carmina last year as a giant dance song extravaganza.

To tell you the truth, I have a hard time with opera because for the longest time the staging was so bad. Nowadays opera directors are really training to integrate movement and scenic elements, but for the longest time people could be singing passionately to their lover about dying for love and standing absolutely still facing the audience and making no face whatsoever. As a theatre person this drove me nuts!
