All is well with me. I'm still LOVING my new place and living alone.
The two raccoons that were living on my roof/deck seem to have gone but I blocked their cubby hole and scattered some repellent. So far so good! YAY!!!!!!!!
I am planning on going to New York next week for 8 days. It will be my first time flying so I am very nervous! But I am really looking forward to going there.
My ex and I are not talking anymore. He has decided that he needs several months of not talking to me to "get on with his life".
That's about it. My tummy has been fairly stable. I have my ups and downs like everyone.
I hope everyone's well and have a fabulous day!!!

glad to hear that you are well!
Sucks that there is no such thing as a 'good' breakup, huh?

You have a great trip.... your flight will be a breeze!! I flew for the first time in 15+ years this time last year and I was so nervous.... but really there was not reason to be.... hopefully you will get a funny flight crew to entertain you to make the time pass by real fast....the males ones tend to crack me up too!
My ex and I are not talking anymore. He has decided that he needs several months of not talking to me to "get on with his life". I can understand that.... hopefully this makes it easier on you as well.
That's about it. My tummy has been fairly stable. I have my ups and downs like everyone. Oh good...
I hope everyone's well and have a fabulous day!!! thanks... you too!

Good to see you back, S-S!
It's scary plugging the access for the raccoons, because they might have made a nest in there, and there might be some babies. I don't mean to scare you, but I've heard of this problem before, and in fact it happened to us.
When the builders completed our new home in California, right after we moved in, we heard cat meowing in what we thought was the attic. We observed a feral cat leaving via an opening in the roof above the garage, so the builder screened it up. BIG mistake!
Sometime later, I heard a "mewing" sound in the same area as before, but when I told the contractors, who were finishing up outside, they thought I was one card short of a full deck. How could I hear cat sounds when the cat had left?
I FINALLY got someone to pay attention to me (although it was too late), and they climbed into the attic and crawled over the other side of the garage, where they heard the very faint mewing sound and could see with a flashlight some little furry things between the sheetrock and the rough framing on the other side of the garage.
They couldn't get down into there, so they had to knock a huge hole out of the sheetrock in the garage. Oy. What a mess!
The contractors pulled out from behind the sheetrock about six little tiny kittens, most of which were dead. One was still alive, though, so I called the Feral Society, which came and picked up the little thing.
I hope your situation is different.
Enjoy NYC!
Bev

hey Tina,
Good to see you.
Enjoy your week in NYC, wonder what is bringing you there
Your ex getting out of your life, is I think a very positive step for you, you can get on with yours too!
Flying is fine honest, its fun! If you are nervous do a google for the scientific reasoning as to how planes stay up in the air, I saw it on TV once and it was really cool!
Have a great trip, visit all the haunts (especially Macys!, My top things to do in NYC are:
1. Lunch at the Ritz in the brasserie (can't be sure how vegan friendly it is though, sorry) 2. A romantic stroll in Central Park 3. Bagels..real NYC bagels, lots of them (are they vegan?) 4. Visit Wholefoods Market in Columbus Circle (Dalia tipped me off on this one) 5. Shopping in Macys 6. Wandering around Chinatown
so many more things too...make sure your local guide gives you a good tour! Have a ball!

Thanks Sinead. I guess it's not secret that I'm going to see Tommy.
Thanks for the list of places to go see. I know I'll get a VERY good your of the city.
I'm going to try not to worry about flying. Enough people that I know have flown and always come back safe and sound so it must be ok!

No the "cubby hole" is actually a space where two parts of the rood overlap and there is a tiny are that they hide under. They haven't dug into the roof or anything. I placed two plants pots there and that's enough to prevent them from scooting under and sleeping there. Don't worry, I would NEVER burry them alive!
Oh, your kitty story is so sad.
I plan on having a blast!
