Let me tell you- I hate to be a downer, but I always feel better after venting...
I have been to more doctor's offices in the past several weeks... ONe day it was a routine physical with lots of blood work...which led to a colonoscopy...which is leading to a gastric mobility test/series of xrays...but this is all good and I am glad...

BUT... I am having surgery tomorrow and I have been through 3 ultrasounds, 2 series of blood tests, pre-anesthesia screening, general exam...and then find on Monday they never wrote me in the book. So planning my life around this surgery was pointless because it wasn't going to happen cause they made a mistake. I threw a fit, filed complaints... and so now I AM having surgery tomorrow .... which is good in a way I guess, but I am nervous for sure.

AND my tests all continue for 2 more weeks...right until I leave for school... and then I gotta commute a couple of times for follow-ups and MORE tests while going to school full-time. Sheesh!

All this I could deal with...but then my favorite thing in the world- my pet turtle Smiley- is now sick. But with all of this medical stuff, I can't get him in for an appointment till Tuesday!! I love Smiley and I feel awful that I can't get him in till then...

On a plus side ... with all of this stress- not one IBS flare-up. (I shouldn't say IBS yet because I still have a few tests left before it is official- the doctor thinks it is but is running tests to be sure...so to be politically correct- "not one problem with IBS-like symptoms" )

There... I feel better already. Thanks for listening.. or reading..

Sorry you're bummed out about having all these tests run, but at least you have a doctor that cares and is concerned. My doctor told me to "just take milk of magnesium" every day. (Yes, every day of my life. That was his answer to my problem. Geez! And he went to medical school for this?)
I'm sorry about your pet turtle. Seems like everybody on the board has a pet that's sick. Right now, knock on wood, my beagles are healthy. One of mine ate a poisonous plant several months ago and almost had liver failure. $800 later and he was fine!
Try to relax and be comforted in the fact that this doctor sounds like is genuinely concerned about your health and wants to get to the root of your problem. (no pun intended.) I hope you will have some answers soon. Good luck with your surgery and let us know how you are doing.

I am sorry you had such a tough day....I have been having a few of those lately...not pretty! I am usually a very happy go lucky type of person, so when I have a bad day - I seem to hit bottom really hard.

I hope things start to turn around. I have to agree with BL - my doctor just pushed pills and me and told me to eat whatever I want except pasta? He must have bought his Doctor's cert at a drug store LOL.

I think you can get a vet to come into your home or maybe you have a family member or friend who could take him for you. People are very understanding with your concern when it comes to pets. They are part of our families and they understand that.

Hope things start to lighten up for you.
Sending you lotsa bright and sunny thoughts!!!
