Si is so depressed atm b/c he's fed up of working ALL the time and still being broke...it all boils down to me not having had a proper job for quite a while . I'm looking, but there are so many jobs (inc. the ones I'm most qualified for) that I can't do b/c of my Fibro.
We've got a group of friends round and everyone's ordering Chinese takeaway...but we just can't afford it.
I'm so fed up of this. I can't evn get our Jobseekers Benefit as they said I HAD to apply for jobs that I couldn't do b/c of my Fibro as they were the ones I was most qualified for. I'm considering going for disability, but even if I got that, it wouldn't be enough.
I've applied for a Vet. Nurse Job and for a paid Student Placement on a Horticulture course (that starts in September) and if I don't get either we are so screwed.
I can't even afford to buy more painkillers or supplements for my Fibro.

...that if I haven't got a job by the end of the week then I'll have to sell my car or we can't afford to MOT, tax and insure his which he uses to get to work.
That'll mean that I really can't get a job (so we'll then be selling the house) and I'll be housebound on all but my really good days.
What the heck do I do?
PS. I've just remembered that I'm out of Celexa and was going to fill a script which we can't afford to do...so I guess I'm coming off it cold turkey.

Linz, have you thought about doing daycare for children? Are there working mothers in your neighborhood who need daycare? I always thought that was a nice thing -- to take in children, especially if you don't have any of your own and love children. I wasn't able to have any, as you know, and I adore them....

Linz, I know it's hard to be out of work, and I know what it's like to be in a relationship where only one of you is working. Money sucks! And life can sure turn out to be craptastic at times! I hope you're finding ways to manage all that stress so that you don't get sick. It's hard being positive when you feel stuck, isn't it? At least, you don't have any children to worry about.
Do you have any friends or family who would be able to help out (or would you be willing to ask them for help)? I don't know how disability works in the UK, but do you have the option of short-term disability? Would you be able to supplement it with part-time work?
I really hope you get one of those jobs you applied for. Linz, you're well-educated and so smart--I'm sure you have a long list of qualifications--I can't imagine that they wouldn't hire you! When do you expect to hear from them?
Best wishes, Maria

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Daycare over here is so strict...I couldn't just do it properly w/out any qualifications! I've put up ads for babysitting/childminding and the only person who responded stood me up! AND I've put up ads for dog-walking etc with no responses. I'm not old enough to work for a pet-sitting agency and most of the child nurseries that need staff either want you to be qualified or they only want you part-time at a pittance.
I'm terrified of coming off my Celexa when I feel like this ON it, but I have no choice. I guess maybe I could use my Elavil stocks during the day for the time being.
Sorry guys I'm just a useless ball of tears atm

Oh Linz, Sorry that you're having such a tough time Try and cheer up...things will eventually get better.
About your Celexa, I'm sure you're aware it's not good to come off those drugs cold turkey, but I don't know how it works in England so I'm just going to make a few suggestions. Do you have any sort of programs that will pay for drugs if you cant' afford them? Could you work something out with the pharmacy to pay them later and/or in installments just this once? Or is it possible you could get a few samples from your doctor or a local hospital just to tide you over?
As for the jobs, I don't really have any suggestions there...is it mainly the fibro that causes you problems? Do you think you could do something at a call center? I work in one and it's tough work (a lot of people can't stand being chained to a phone like that all day and they're very micro-managed environments) but, you do get to sit all day long and pretty much just talk, so it's been good for some people I know who have health problems (obviously depending on the problem). Plus, over here at least, they tend to pay pretty well even for part-time, because the turnover rate is so high.
Hope some of the ideas help Take care of yourself! Kelly

So sorry you are having such a tough time of it.
My hubby is on Celexa and has just gotten the generic one called Citalopram. It is much less expensive. You might check it out. If you get the pills what about taking 1/2 the dose for awhile. You shouldn't just get off of it cold turkey.
Another idea. I don't know if they have this in England but here we have Patient Assistance Programs from the drug companies. I got my sister on the one for Lilly for her Prozac and she gets it free. You have to be low income and fill out some paperwork and get your doc to send it in. If you need more info I could get it for you.
Also some docs have samples to give away free. You might check that out. Check with your doc and tell him you have no money to get your pills and see if he can help you. He surely won't want you going cold turkey.
Good Luck Barbie

You should consider mystery shopping has a form of income. You can do telephone assignments from your home without investing much money (you will need your computer and internet connection). England has many companies that do them. Write "mystery shopping companies England" on google and began the application process. Some companies pay weekly, others monthly. I have fibro and do this for supplemental income. No specific education or experience is required. You must be reliable.
