Hello Folks!
I joined the board about 1-1/2 years ago, and I failed to introduce myself Sorry.
I was addressing more urgent health problems, so I just lurked every once in a while, but now I'm ready to tackle the IBS and GERD head ON. I want to feel good again!
Looking forward to learning from and chatting with all you lovely people.

Welcome!! Great to have you here!! I also have a mild problem of GERD. I'm down to controlling it with a very low dose of pepcid as long as I don't over eat or lay down after eating, I seem to have that mostly under control!

Hi! Welcome! You must've posted some before, because I remember your name. So you've been lurking, heh? Have you learned anything from reading this board? It is kind of addictive!!! I'm afraid I'm not getting much done anymore because I'm always on the computer. I need to limit my time.

I used to live in the north suburbs too! Worked at Lutheran General. A lot of the docs live in Highland Park, including my former doc.
Welcome, from another Illinoision!

I did post once about egg yolks That's when I was first thinking there might be something like IBS going on. I had a scrambled egg with tabasco sauce for breakfast. Needless to say, I got D almost every morning
I have learned a lot from the board and from Heather's site and book. I am an acacia devotee. I recently bought some Stevia to put in my tea based on some discussions here. I also bought some fennel extract (I was afraid of buying the ground seeds) and drip some in my water. It's pretty good. I'm also doing a good job of drinking lots of water the last few days...I fill up a bottle of water, add acacia, shake it up and nurse it throughout the day.
Looking forward to learning more.

Sounds like yo're doing pretty well! Why are you afraid of Fennel seeds.

Linz, I was in the middle of an attack and I thought the roughage of the seeds would trigger me (if taken in capsule format). I don't really care for the taste, so tea doesn't really work for me.

Mix the seeds (as tea) with other teas...it is SO worth it. I hate the taste too (tho I'm starting to get used to it) but I mix it and drink it as it's so wonderful. Really, really worth it.

Thanks for the tip, Linz. As soon as I get my kitchen back (I'm renovating), I'm going to do that!
