I'm so glad to see there's a community out there. I have IBS alternating. mostly constipated, but alternating. I hate it!! Anyone else with alternating? How do you cope?

A SFS is sooo important with IBS-A. I love Acacia meself.
Btw...if you post IBS, diet or board queries on the "Eating For IBS" forum, you'll probably get more responses.

I post on iparenting.com, and we use the same format of boards, so I knew the basic slang-MIL.Dh etc. but the "IBSbuzz" helped.
And right now I am not taking SFS. I do occasionally use a fiber laxative pill...it really hurts.

I've not heard of that one. A SFS is a way better idea than any laxatives...you can get dependent on them plus they're usually harsh enough to actually trigger IBS.

I use a fiber laxative pill which is, I assume, fiber, dehydrated into pill format. it's harsh and definitely swings me to D. I'm now avoiding it. I'd actually been told by a lady at the gym I went to, that this stuff called "experience" was great for all tummy problems...she told me you're supposed to go #2 like 5 times a day...I thought, "What??? I only go three times a week! Or I get D for a day and then back to normal." So I tried it. HOLY did it trigger the IBS (which, once again, id idn't know it was) and made me poop a lot. It also made me totally pained and miserable. Thanks a lot to her.
So I thought, till just recently, that the fiber laxative was safest. Ah, I've seen the light!

What's the ingredient? It MIGHT be a harsh SFS or it could be something like Senna. Either way, it's obviously not for you!

but I know it's not senna. I do not recall any medicinal ingredients on it. Mind you, when I have a muffin and it affects my tummy, I guess I have this worse than I thought!
