It took 2 of my friends an hour and a half to put it together (the frame came in a million pieces). I owe them some drinks to thank them. It's real hardwood. It's a very old home so it's hardwood throught. I've got pine floorboards in my bedroom, but cos 1) it's not hardwood and 2) they're not really well put down they're a nightmare to clean so I'm insisting on a carpet as soon as we can afford it! Mmm...keep it as *your* space. That's such a nice idea. There was a couple on the radio today who were thinking of moving in together only now after 17 YEARS cos they like their own space so much. The landlord refinished them and they are in very good shape. Carpeting isn't as great for my allergies so I prefer hardwood floors. It's ALL MINE. No men allowed....just kidding! Is it part of a larger hourse? I used to live in a BIG house that was divided into 3 apartments and loved it!! I kinda miss have my OWN place and making it all girlie and stuff!! Don't get me wrong, I love my hubby and our house is cute too, if not old!! Our house was built in 1922 and has the original hard wood floors except the kitchen is parquet (sp?) which is a different type of wood, we had those refinished a couple of years ago and they turned out really nice! The wood floor is fantastic, and I recognize those lace curtains in the bathroom -- I had the same kind, only they had ducks on the bottom instead of houses. It looks like an older place -- is it? It must be a top flat too, since the roof line comes down like it does. Very nice. How many other units are there in the complex? How many below you? Next to you? What's the view out the windows? It's an older place, maybe 100 years old. I should ask. And yes, it's the top unit with one below me and one on the main floor. It's a HUGE house. Nobody above or beside me, just the landlord below me. My view out of the windows are other olf houses and massive trees. It's a very nice street and a great neighbourhood. Thanks for your interest!
