web page

I have had Vulvodynia for almost ten years. I have not had any symptoms for the last four ( since I had Kenna) I have been having some peoblems agian. I did a web search for Vulvodynia and Ibs together and found this. I have had cronic yeast infections my whole life and am wondering if this could be a major cause of my problems. IBS and VV. Yeast sensitvity. ( My jaw dropped when she mentioned she has IBS)

I did a board search on here and found a one other post from a women with both IBS and VV. Just thought I would share this new nfo I found. I am going to talk to my doctor if my VV pain is still with me in the AM I am hoping and praying to god that is is gone! I realy don't know what I am going to do if it is back. IBS is nothing ( to me) compared to VV. I am paniking and trying very hard to keep calm I have only been in pain again for two days but it is always in the back of my head " What if the VV comes back"
Sorry rambling !!

Hugs and prayers needed!!!

...is not fully understood, researched or proven which is why I haven't yet tried it.

But the link is interesting...the processes behind all of them are similar (and I get MILD vulval pain as part of the fibro ).

My fingers are crossed for you! Btw...maybe it was thrush instead? That can be very painful too (but is treatable ).

Fingers are soooo crossed that the diflucan works. Have you got a suppository? The creams never work on my thrush.

Well, just for about 2 minutes. By the time I'm out of the bathroom they've usually stopped being helpful!

Has your doc done a swab test to check for thrush? That was how I was diagnosed as my discharge is never helpful.

Fingers crossed!

Btw...are you thinking you might have Fibro? I'll check up on the FMS/VV link a bit.

Ype it has been discussed that i may have fibro! You know I am telling you that there is something worng with the way my brain recives pain signals! Between VV and IBS and now Fibro! I am 29 for goodness sake! I feel like I am crazy! Like how can I have all this??? I feel so sorry for my poor DH he had no clue what he was getting into when he said I do to me! He has never complained though bless his heart! Although if he doen't lay off about needing to go outside in the sunshine to help with my depression I may have to scream!!! Sorry!! I am having a bad bout of deppression right now!!!

Sweetie, get some a-d's! I know you don't like Elavil but ther are LOTS out there that can help with the depression, the fibro AND the pain. This is hard enough w/out actual depression on top of everything else!

I was just reading that VV is an associated condition of fms....yet another one!

It sucks, doesn't it. On my positive days I figure it as I have 1 illness (fibro) and all the others are just hangers on! At least some of the treatments (a-d's in particular) hit all of them at once.

And our poor hubbies!

{{{HUGS}}} Let me know how it goes with the doc. If you need it, my inbox is ALWAYS open. And I've got some book recommendations and websites if you do get the diagnosis. {{{gentle hugs}}}

Thanks honey!! You are great!! I take 100mg zoloft but it dosen't seem to be working the greatest right now! I have to decide if we are going to keep trying for baby number two or just quit and go back on Elavil. Rich is getting mad because he says I am jumping the gun and thinking to negative! He says it isn't possitve that the VV is back or that I have fibro! I don't know maybe I need to chill!!!! SO MUCH EASIER SAID THAN DONE!!!!!! I may e mail ya tonight!!!! If you don't mind me having a breakdown on ya!!
HUGS!!!

Email me whenever you want! I went through so much when I was getting a diagnosis and got so much help, anything I can do I will, okay?

If I were you, I've give yourself a time-out over the baby decision right now. You need to sort out a diagnosis or something first. Having a baby with uncontrolled fibro sounds like a nightmare! So just give yourself a few months to sort out what's going on with your bod before you add ANOTHER medical side to it all! Plus stress (whether mental or physical) isn't great for conceiving or carrying a baby.

Talk to your doc about switching a-d's. Maybe another one would help more atm.

I'm here for you sweetie! {{{hugs}}}

Fyi, if you're interested, here is medicinenet's pages for fibro....they usually have pretty good info.

When you were on Elavil, were you totally teetotal? Cos I read that alcohol blocks it's anit-depressive quality and enhances the sedative effect! Except that it seems to ddo the opposite on me!
