Oh boy. What a week I've had. Talk about emotional. I had a good cry this morning though and feel a bit stronger now.

This is hard stuff leaving a partner after 10 years. I have no doubts but it's still very diificult.

Have those good cries without embarassment. Leaving is never easy, even when you know beyond a doubt that it's the right decision.

Inbox is always open if you need a listening ear. You can do this! I'm proud of you for following your heart - too many people stay where they are because it's comfortable. *hugs*

Ohmigod! How time's flown.

Cry your heart out sweetie. Even though you know this is the right thing to do, it's naturally to have some mourning to do...especially as you guys were together so long. We're all here for you!

And think how cool it's gonna be in your new place with all your goodies!

Good for you for having a good cry. I really feel for you. It must be SO difficult. I really admire you for having the guts to move on. You are a VERY strong individual and things will get better. ALlow yourself time to mourn. You're allowed. Take it one day at a time.
Love, Alicia.

As Casey said, it is hard to leave a relationship of 10 years, even if it wasn't the best, because it was comfortable. And you did love him at one time, maybe you always will.

But think about how you would feel if you gave up this opportunity and hung around. Which scares me more? Probably the thought of living in those conditions for another 10 or more years.

You are nervous, and anyone in your shoes would be. But deep down, you know it's the best thing. And this is the roughest time. The time right before the move when everything becomes "real". But hey, even though you are moving, we are'nt!! We'll still be old and familar and comfortable.

Once you get some familiar things in your new place, and get Sara in there with you, you will feel better and at peace. Maybe not the first night, but I bet by the end of the week, things will be much brighter and you'll be wondering what all your crying was about!!

Crying is so healing and therapeutic. You are mourning the loss of a relationship. But you have a new one right around the corner. You are one of the strongest people I know, Tina. So determined to make your life happpy and the most fullfilling that you can, even when it means doing frightening things and making changes.

YOU ARE AWESOME!!! Take care and check in this weekend if you can. Otherwise, we expect a full report on Monday!

Lots of love and hugs!

Sending lots of huggs and good wishes your way!
I am sure the toughest part will be when you have to leave the apt you share with your ex for the last time. But, then you can look forward and move on and never look back! I know this is a tough time for you, but remember even if you can't post for a little while we will all be where ever we are wishing you well.
REmember- you are awesome and deserve this new life that you will be starting and most DEFINATELY made the right choice.
Good luck again!

Ah, I wound up with a new bf Didn't want one, but I also realize that you have to go with what happens, if something feels right you have to go with it. This guy is so great for me! He is such a sweetheart and is everything that I had missing in previous relationships. I am being very careful to keep my own life though, don't want to get sucked into just being 'the second half' again.
I am taking him to meet my parents on Easter *crossing fingers*
I have been busy with work and school, too. I have calmed down my party girl life alittle, it was getting to be too much for me and my IBS! I try to stick to only having late nights on the weekends now and have been feeling much better.
I have been lurking almost everyday though!

Sheri, what is LS?

Is it that same guy that you kissed that is your BF? I am so happy for you!!! YAY! I bet you're so happy that you ended things with the other guy. It led to you meeting a great new guy.

I'm glad that you've calmed down with the partying. It's good for short-term fun but very ahrd to maintain without it affecting your life. Been there before when I was your age.

I'm so happy that things are going well with you Sheri!

I've been
a) getting a new job
b) adopting a new cat
c) preparing for 2 concerts and a trip to Toronto, all to happen in April.
Good stress, all, but stress nonetheless. Had a little head cold in there too, but thanks to the wondrous neti pot, it proved minor.

The new job won't start till August, but I was officially hired this week. It's the position of "director of choral activities" at a really big suburban Lutheran church outside of Milwaukee. I'll be directing the adult choir, the bell choir, and developing the children's/youth choir programs. I'm quite excited about it. It feels like a real good fit. So I've been dragging out all my church choir books and resources to begin to brush up on that stuff- I've been out of the church loop for 5 years. I was sort of forced to look for a new position because my position at the high school at which I teach has been cut because of drops in $$ and enrollment, but all's well that ends well. I think this is gonna be a good thing.
New kitty- her name is "Sunday"- is doing very well, and the entire zoo is doing pretty well in adapting to her presence. She's figured out the box, and she's slowly establishing relationships with the other cats. She epecially likes Maurice(the big grey cat in the picture).
I have been to Toronto once before, but in the same context in which I'm going this time- that's with 150 high school kids on several busses, to participate in an international music competition. We don't get too much time sightseeing; we'll be going with the kids to see "Wicked", getting to do a couple other touristy things (a mall or the Royal museum, I believe, are the kids' choices- of course, we have to keep their free time fairly structured), then doing the competition. It sounds like a trip to hell on gossamer wings, but it's really kinda fun. I like my students.
Plus two concerts. I won't bore you with those details unless you want to know more.
