Hey Abby,
I get a period every 6-7 months because my body makes me feel like I have to. I start getting really crampy (although not full-blown like when I have my period) and start getting break-through bleeding. I try and push through it but eventually I pretty much get my period anyways, and I've found it'll just continue on if I don't stop the pills and have an official "break" I know some people who go longer but so far I haven't had such luck
Good luck with the pill, I know some girls with endo who have found Yasmin hasn't been strong enough for them, I take Min-Ovral, which isn't a very popular one I don't think but has worked really well for me. My ob-gyn originally said it was the first one she always gave to people with endo.
Hope that helps! Sorry you have to go through yucky period crap too
Kelly

FYI - I have IBS with C and D - yasmin was terrible for me and my cramps were worse. I take Loestrin now and IBS is much better now. also, i suppress my periods by taking my pill packs straight through w/o a break, thereby suppressing my period and the terrible IBS cramps that go along with it. My gyno suggested me doing so until it's time to try getting pregnant, 6 months from now.

Thanks for your reply - I started the yasmin about 2 weeks ago and about a week and a half into it I got my period (or I guess they call it breakthrough bleeding) and awful cramps along with it. It lasted 5 whole days (the cramping)and I thought I was gonna die! I called my doctor and she wants me to stay on it for at least 3 months but I really dont want too. I am also taking it continuously so that I dont have periods but I guess the Yasmin wasnt strong enough for me. Maybe I will ask about Loestrin. Thanks again!
