for the first time since Christmas! I woke up about 6 a.m. and couldn't believe it. I had been tossing and turning for awhile with my back hurting, but nothing like the excruiating pain I have experienced before.
I think the combination of physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medicine, and avoidance of bending over are helping my back!!!!!!! I can't believe how fast this is working. I just started PT on Monday. I thought this therapist was crazy because she was working me so hard, but she obviously knows what she's doing.
Today, I decided to surprise her. When she asked how I was doing, I said ok. Then I got up on the table and did 20 of the exercises really fast. She was so excited! On Monday, I could only get up about 6 inches off the table----and I was in tears doing that.
Of course, I've done ZERO bending over (meaning no housework or laundry) this week, so I know that's helped. Don't think I can continue that forever. But she says I will be able to add that back after the muscle has time to completely heal.
Yeah me! Maybe I won't have to suffer in pain every day for the rest of my life afterall.
Gotta go do my exercises again. The more I do them, the better my back feels!

My old one. I'm waiting to see how this PT progresses before I shuck out major bucks for the Swedish Tempur-Pedic. The PT seems to think my back will hurt on that one too---until it heals.

Good girl! I'm so glad you found a bit of relief. I'll be watching for later posts to see how you're doing. Hang in there. I know, my Dad has sicadica (sp?) and is familiar with the excruciating pain of back problems. Hugs, Love Han.

This is such great news! My sister was just diagnosed with bulging disks and I think I'll tell her to encourage her - she too just started working with a physical therapist. Glad to hear you're moving in the right direction finally! min

That's fantastic news! Woo hoo! So glad the PT is helping and that you won't have to deal with this pain for the rest of your life. And of course not being able to do housework with a legit excuse? Awesome. Enjoy it while you can Good luck and keep the good news coming!
