Hey Guys,

I know I'm probably overreacting, but I'm totally freaked out right now. I have a sinus infection that's spread to my eyes and hasnt' been getting better. I went back to the doc yesterday and he seemed totally incompetent, but he did give me new prescription eye drops and doubled my oral antibiotic dosage. Then this morning I wake up with a bloody nose and I'm coughing up blood! I dont' know if this is run of the mill with a sinus infection but it's got me totally freaked out.

Does anyone have any info on this? I don't see the doctor again until Tuesday so I'm kinda on my own.

Kelly

Page your doctor or the doc on call or a pharmacist. I find pharmasists more compassionate and helpful actually!

Hi Kelly,

Sorry you are feeling bad.

Have you been using a nasal spray? Sometimes they can cause a nosebleed. Maybe you are just coughing up the blood from a nosebleed. I really don't know what to tell you except to call your doc or ask a pharmacist if your meds could be causing this.

Good luck

I say don't wait to see the doc-- get yourself to the ER. If I wake up and see blood, that'll make up my mind right there.

Are your nasal passages dry? Mine get dry at this time of the year so I use a humidifier, but that might not be appropriate for you if you have an infection.

I would be too! I don't care who you are, coughing up blood would scare the crap out of ya!

I would definitely call that doc again or ask to see another doc ASAP! I wouldn't let this go.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing!

Sorry, must have missed this. Computer keeps logging me off, then all posts are marked read. I agree with everyone else. Hope you've taken yourself to the ED. Let us know what they say and I hope you get your infection cleared up soon and start feeling better.

Thanks for listening to me vent. I actually didn't end up going to the hospital just becuase to be honest, I doubted there was anything they would do for me either than make me wait a really long time. The blood has gone away, so that makes me feel better, and I'll be sure to mention it at my doctor's appointment. So now I just have to try and stop worrying...not an easy task for someone like me!
