I got a 2-year contract offer with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as a Project Manager! Yeaaaaa! The best part is I WORK FROM HOME!

I have to submit my pay requirements on Tuesday, so I actually need to prepare a budget for the contract. Yikes, actual work for my weekend!

Just wanted to post and let all you good people know! It'll be nice drawing an actual paycheck again. OK, bye!

I am totally freaked, cos I've always had an office before!!!! But I'm totally set up here, so there's no reason why I can't do it! It's just weird, being able to work in my pjs.

This IS an IBS-er's dream, you're right!!

It 'is' different, definitely.

I had a friend who did full-time graphic design from home (it was her own company) and it was a bit tricky. You just have to make sure that you put in your time and don't get distracted too easily. She did great at first but soon started staying out and partying until 3am and sleeping in until 2pm. Then she had to cram a bunch of designs in and have them look like she spent days or weeks on creating them. Oops.

But you've got a better head on your shoulders than she did.

Hoorah! That was pretty fast! You weren't unemployed for long! You must be pretty darn good at whatever you do! And you'll always have a toilet nearby. GL Nelly! now get to work!

.....now that's a scary thought! I'M JUST KIDDING, Nelly! I am so proud of you.

And you will love working from home. I did last year, and it was great. A cup of hot tea, my beagles in the chair behind me, staying in my pj's as long as I wanted .... it was great!!! And I could be washing clothes or running the dishwasher while I was working.

Congratulations! You go, girl!

Wow Nelly, that sounds great!!
I am so happy for you.
Now that I am back looking for work, I have been thinking how much I'd like to work from home for a while but I just haven't found anything. For a while, I did this 'project mapping' for this huge company and I could do it all from home and eMail.. so I could work at 2 am if I couldn't sleep and stuff. And I got paid really well! Unfortunately, it was only temporary and now you need a degree to do it, booo.
Yay, that sounds so great for you! Congrats!!!
