Good idea Shell! Maybe you should invest in a pair of hand cuffs so he definately can't get away again-lol. Hope you enjoy having him home for a while.

Well, at least let the boy off the floor of the airport so you two can get home! And if not, charge the spectators and ignore security. LOL

Shane just called... he is leaving the hotel and is in route to the airport...WWWWWOOOOOOHHHHHOOOOOOOO...... his company has arranged for everyone to keep the rooms they are in until Feb 10th, so when he comes home all he has to bring home is he laptop, dirty clothes, and his sexy self!! hehehe That will make it nice for the outbound trips too so he does not have to take SO MUCH all by himself.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HIM...... Less then 6 hours!!

I love my husband, but I love it when he's out of town! After 24 1/2 years of marriage, I enjoy (and look forward to) having the remote control to myself, the entire bed to stretch out in, and no one but myself to think about for a little while.

Don't get me wrong, I love him, but a little separateness does wonders for my marriage. Then we appreciate each other more when we are together!!!

When he's gone, I rent a movie he'd never want to see (a chick flick), eat the things he doesn't like, and I can sleep diagonally in the bed, if I want to. What a luxury!!!!

I love my husband's new job---he's out of town 1-2 days a week. That gives us the majority of the time together---and a few special days to do whatever we want alone.

He's leaving next week, and I can't wait to watch HGTV for hours and hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'll fix me some guacamole for dinner, something he hates.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Everyone says that to me and Justin too - you must be newlyweds! I am alone all day though while he's at work, so I am so lonely and miss him like crazy!
He's seriously my best friend, and I would do everything with him if it was possible!
I can't even fall asleep until he's in bed...2 years married and we've never gone to sleep at differnet times!

Maybe this will fade as we get older....:) Everyone seems to say it does!

My husband and I have been married 19 years today and I too don't mind when he leaves town. I get all excited when he is coming home and I try to tidy up extra and cook his favorite meal.

I no longer have my bed to myself as my 11 yo daughter likes to sleep with me when daddy is gone.

I think you are totally normal!

Heck no! We've only been married for 8 years, but a little separate time is great for us. We started to take our own vacations a couple of years ago and it is great. We can do what we really want to do without worrying about how bored the other is. We still do alot of stuff together and take our big vacations together. We were friends before we started dating, so we have many common interests, but sometimes she likes to hang out with her girlfriends (I'm not the best shopping partner)and I like to do outdoor things which she hates.

I think you are definitely normal, everyone needs their space sometimes. Listen to this, my uncle retired a couple years ago and moved from the Bay Area to Idaho, WITHOUT my aunt! She didn't want to move yet, so they were both basically on their own for 2 years. She has been spending more time up there recently, and will be moving soon. But she absolutely LOVED being on her own!!!

My parents did that for a year - Mum moved up to the farm where they live now and Dad still worked in the city, so he took a flat and just went up for weekends.
It seemed to work okay for them, but at the time I was worried they were going to split up!

I like to have the bed to myself because my hubbie hogs the covers!!! All night long, I'm fighting to keep myself covered up. And in the morning, when I make the bed up, the sheets are hanging out the end of his side of the bed---and are still neatly tucked in on my side. I think he must turn cartwheels in his sleep! Drives me crazy!!!

Emma, I have heard of more people doing weekend commute things, but that's too bad you thought they were divorcing...If my aunt and uncle had kids, I don't think it would have worked at all, since they only saw each other like 1-2 times/month. I'm glad it sounds like your parents are still together!

Beaglelover, I was LOL about your husband messing up the bed!! My BF does the SAME thing whenever he sleeps over!! I always try to get him to make the bed, because the sheets on his side are all over the place!!! It's SO annoying! But I think he does it because he gets hot and dumps all the covers on top of me... so then I wake up drowning in comforter and sweating, lovely
